Log Cabin Republican loves McCain, hates self
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008Here is Patrick Sammon, President of the Log Cabin Republicans, discussing his group’s recent endorsement of John McCain for President with CNN.
I just don’t see how any self respecting gay person can hop on the Republican bandwagon, especially now that McCain has added someone to the ticket who is as conservative and who has proven hostile to gay rights as Sarah Palin. The Log Cabin Republicans are just trying to stay relevant as they are being trotted out to show the inclusiveness of the Republican party. Its kind of sad. They are choosing the vote their wallet instead of voting their soul.

Sunday, August 31st, 2008Then she PROBABLY shouldn’t be running for the job. I cannot believe Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin asked “what does Vice President of the United States do” on camera with witnesses.
Former beauty queen, Sarah Palin was elected Alaska’s governor a little over a year and a half ago.
She is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest. She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. She thinks creationism should be taught in public schools. And she doesn’t think humans are the cause of climate change.
I’m hoping she’ll be so offensive to the middle of the road Republicans that they will flock to Obama. I’m not sure why McCain would choose her unless he is intentionally shooting himself in the foot. I would think already being a republican and running against Obama, he would need to worry more about catering to those who might actually vote for Obama than catering to a group that would never vote for him (pro-life, creationism in school bible thumpers). Can anyone explain this choice to me? What is hoping to gain with her, aside from someone whose not as likely to keel over from old age. Even her mother-in-law isn’t sure if she’ll vote for her.
