I haven’t been mentioning GLEE as much this season because it just hasn’t been as gay.
Sure we have Kurt and Blaine as an adorable couple every episode now and of course there was Dave Karofsky’s attempted suicide, but other than that the LGBT aspect hasn’t been quite as front and center during Season 3… until Saturday Night GLEEver that is.
During GLEE’s deliecious Disco flashback episode, GLEE puts the T in LGBT when a member of Vocal Adrenaline (a shy transgender-identifying teen named Wade) comes to Kurt and Mercedes for advice on whether he should don wig, dress and heels to debut his confident female persona (named “Unique”) for Regionals. The pair run it past Sue (of all adults to ask?!?!) and she offers up a pair of Janet Reno’s old Boogie Shoes in an effort to sabotage the enemy camp with controversy.
Controversy aside, I don’t see how this number would have worked without Unique in drag. By the way, Wade/Unique is portrayed by Alex Newell who was one of the winners of The GLEE Project. Alex enjoys it when people refer to him as “Kurtcede” and has high hopes that Wade/Unique might catch Dave Karofsky’s eye (tho that may be unlikely as Max Adler has been signed for the ABC submarine drama, “Last Resort.”
Those familiar with the site know I tend to save many of the better faked Photoshop nudes found all over the net until I have enough to assemble them into galleries dedicated to specific celebs under the banner of Celebrity FAUXtoshop. Lucky you, I’ve gathered the requisite amount of images for the following hotties: Chris Pine, Ryan Kwanten and Mark Salling – so place your votes NOW to see who’s next!

BBC talk show host Jonathan Ross did his homework before having GLEE’s Chris Colfer on. He found out that Colfer is apparently a master with the weapons and surprised him with a set of twin Sai.
Chris Colfer’s moves were pretty impressive. He twirled those sai like they were deadly cheer-leading batons. But Matthew Morrison hiding behind the couch was priceless. The sai spinning reminded me of killer baton twirling. I wonder if Colfer is a fan of Elektra the Assassin?

Prom has come to McKinley High School and the Gleeks are ready to party. Who will be the Prom King and Queen 2011? Will it be Quinn and Finn? Pizes? Santanofsky? Whoever it is should remember… heavy is the crown.
Expect the usual rambling spoilerific commentary a bit later. But here is a bit for now – READ AFTER WATCHING!!! I can say I thoroughly enjoyed the episode and I’m especially liking secret lesbian Santana a lot lately. Her Altamont comment was priceless – without a hitch… not quite. Finn is NOT over Rachel. I foresee him dumping Quinn. I was sure for a sec that Dave was gonna spring out of that dark closet, but no. More later. Til then enjoy the Glee Flash Mob videos below.

I meant to post last week’s new episode featuring Sue Sylvester’s SUE-per villains, but didn’t get around to it so I’m giving tou two weeks of GLEE again! Last weeks episode is the top video and below it is this week’s episode featuring the GLEE version of Lady Gaga’s LGBT anthem… Born This Way!
I wasn’t thinking about Born This Way as an anti plastic surgery anthem, but it works. When Dave Karofsky looks back on his youth and wonders where things went wrong, he’ll realize his big mistake was pissing off Santana. I love to see her evil fully on the side of Team Kurt – even if it is for her own selfish attempt to dupe Brittany into a full lesbian romance. Unpretty was more than skin deep. In the Prom Queen race… I think I’m rooting for Zizes, but she should watch her ass taking on Quinn in a popularity contest is harder than beating Santana’s ass on the hallway.
This turn of events with Dave and Santana is just bizarre. But if all it takes to make him stop being an asshole is a beard, then I’m glad Santana stepped up. Not that I see it lasting more than 20 minutes. But I hope it’s long enough to get Kurt re-enrolled. YAY! It was! I had a feeling they couldn’t keep him out of the impending Born This Way number. He got all he needed from private school – a temporary refuge and a hot boyfriend. Who brings the Warblers for the sweetest serenade goodbye / welcome back to McKinley. I love that America (and the world i hope) is watching this. I keep imagining being a LGBT kid and just seeing this as what TV is like.
DO NOT underestimate The Zizes. OUCH! Loosey Caboosey? Quinn’s fast track the prom Queen just derailed BIG TIME. Or not!
the Born This Way number was cute – loved the shirts. Especially Santana’s.
My usual stream of consciousness GLEE reviews have been delayed because I’ve been having bandwidth issues that are making watching Hulu videos difficult, but appears it was a combo of driver issues and a fundamental INCOMPATIBILITY with recent Flash Player update and Hulu.com. So if you experiencing similar problems – 1st check drivers and uninstall the most recent Flash player update – and install an archived version of flash (Hulu tech support recommended 11/04/2010 release, 10.1.102.64) and it has significantly improved the problem.
First off Gwyneth Paltrow reprises her role as sexy, fun substitute teacher Holly Holiday who is back at McKinley High to teach sex ed. I may add my banter after I rewatch this with Popapathy. But but for now will say this… as effective a PSA against teenage promiscuity as last episode was against drinking… not very. But As I’m far from a teen needing guidance I still enjoyed it on its own merits.
But for now gonna watch and ramble on Original Song… the Glee kids perform “their own music” for the first time.
6ft3 out and proud star of stage and screen, Cheyenne David Jackson was born July 12, 1975 in Newport, Washington to a pair of evangelical born-again Christians. Although there was tension after Jackson moved to Spokane, WA and came out as gay, the family eventually accepted his sexuality.
The director of the fictional show choir juggernaut Vocal Adrenaline (on GLEE) was once dubbed "Broadway’s Sexiest man," grew up with a almost spiritual affinity for Wonder Woman and was lucky enough to meet and perform with Lynda Carter later in life.
Two years later Cheyenne Jackson stepped in to replace the injured star of the Xanadu: The Musical less than a week before opening night. He was the perfect replacement because he’d previously starred in workshop productions of the show (opposite Future 30 Rock co-star Jane Krakowski).
Jackson’s stint as Sonny in Xanadu earned him "Outstanding Lead Actor" nominations from Drama League and Drama Desk. The musical itself recieved several Tony nominations including "Best New Musical" which earned the cast a spot on the 62nd Tony Award show.
In 2008 Cheyenne Jackson released an album, was named Out Magazine’s and performed in Damn Yankees (again with Jane Krakowski ), then followed it by playing Woody in the critically praised Finian’s Rainbow.
He also starred in the Development workshop of Book of Mormon – from the team of Robert Lopez (who co-wrote the music for Avenue Q) and notorious South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
The musical is a religious satire about Mormon missionaries in a dangerous part of Uganda, and has a planned March 2011 opening.
His silver screen credits include a protrayal of 9/11 victim and hero Mark Bingham in the 2006 Academy Award nominated United 93 and roles in upcoming releases The Green and Price Check.
Since 1999, Cheyenne Jackson has been romantically involved with Monte Lapka, a Physicist from Seattle who he met while Monte was studying . The two formally filed for a Domestic Partnership in New York State during the summer of 2010 after ten years together and were married on September 3, 2011.
I’m not sure that this episode was really an effective spot to tackle the tough subject of teen drinking. The assembly Ke$ha number notwithstanding, the whole episode just make drinking look like a lot of fun… and it is, if done responsibly. While I’m glad we didn’t see anyone hurt or injured, I’m not sure if the message would really come across to anyone but Rachel – who between her drunken interaction with Blaine and Brittany’s mid-song “special FX” has probably been scared sober for life.

Disappointed in last night’s Justin Bieber-themed episode. But I expected to be. I can most assuredly state I DO NOT have Bieber Fever. I don’t understand the international craze for a teen idol who looks like a pre-teen lesbian. Sorry.
Not much else to say about the episode. Sue is floundering with no goal now that her 7th consecutive nation championship has been taken from her. But her own “new direction” could be hazardous for the GLEEks. Anyone who DIDN’T forsee Santana hitting on the blond Bieber – flog yourself. More musings on my second viewing.
Bieber songs were definitely the weak link. I assume the hoodlie and some of those moves were straight from Bieber’s youtube oeuvre (but can’t bring myself to check). Puck looked ridic with the floppy wig bangs. I didn’t know there was a brand of teen idol that appeals to young girls but NOT gay men. Now I know. They are just so much pre-packaged fluff engineered specifically to get 12 year old girls squealing. The diva-off was cute, Lauren Zizes belting I know What Boys like was great. she owned it… and I like the Chemical Romance song, but otherwise it was pretty much a throwaway episode.
Hmm, I expected more rants about Bieber from you guys…
And neither have we, right? Just because I haven’t had a free moment to watch last night’s GLEE, doesn’t mean YOU have to wait. I’ll watch it after I get back from my weekly ritual of visiting the comic book store then reading a few books over calamari and a lemon drop. OK – BACK post ritual – will pause and comment as I watch so expect a long post in an uncharacteristically stream of consciousness style.
Aw, Kurt’s “glee” at Blaine knowing his coffee order reminds me of my caffeine-obsessed Popapathy. His is the only coffee order I know. I’ve seen Blaine singing to Gap boy, but even if I hadn’t I would know the guys Blaine is referring to is not Kurt. Hating the impending heartbreak that I KNOW is coming.
OK Finn is getting a bit full of himself… who will be taking him down a peg? Of course Santana steps up as it is what she lives for, but OUCH the crowd turns on her and it gets UGLY!
Lauren Zizes is one smart cookie. By 1st showing interest and THEN rejecting him, she ensured captain alpha male Puck will become obsessed.
Heartbreak is here, but at least Kurt gets a sleepover with his best girlfriends to help him “harness the pain.”
Finn is kinda pissin’ me off. Totally disrespecting Sam (in regards to Quinn) and using the same alpha male moves on her that Puck did while she was dating Finn. He keeps shifting from likable to unlikeable and back and forth as the season progresses. SEE – he was just so sweet to Rachel. But predicting he’ll be a prick to someone else in 5 minutes…
OH NO! NOT “BIEBER FEVER”" ANYTHING BUT THAT! PLEASE!
Artie rocks. He and Brittany are kinda adorable. Cute number
Santanna vs Zizes… totally reminding me of Queen Latifah vs some skinny bitch in that Steve Martin movie. Do NOT try to take on the state Greco Wrestling champ in a brawl. Generally NOT a “good” idea. For future reference.
I don’t like the Quinn, Sam, Finn, Rachel rectangle… wait the voiceover said pentagon… who is the 5th?
I think Blaine wants Jeremiah for his hair and his Gap discount? I’ll pass on both. I loved the number – but I was worried I might get Jeremiah in trouble, but didn’t expect that. Sucks. I thought Blaine knew was out at work, you can’t just do that without finding out something like that, outing is not cool. Still you can’t fire someone for being sung at, can you? Poor Blaine, pretty soundly unvalentined.
You MUST respect the evil that is Santanna. That should expose the pair of cheaters.
What’s wrong with Tina?
So Kurt/Blaine is not out of the question, Blaine is just as clueless as Kurt about relationships. But to those around them, in many ways they are already in one. So the questions is… is Blaine attracted to Kurt? I’m guessing no or he’s have noticed Kurt’s feelings.
Another Warblers number? Looks like the dangers of this becoming the Kurt show are over, it’s already the Blaine show. And SANTANA is officially the 5th person in the pentagram!
