A special treat for the new year… a look back at the last one! Here are the 100 highest rated posts from the past 12 months. If you don’t approve of something on the list, you have no one to blame but yourself. Due to few people actually rating, it didn’t take too high a score to make the top 100 (just 4 perfect 5 star ratings).
Each an every post can be rated by ANYONE viewing the blog (yes I’m talking to all you silent lurkers out there). Over the next month or 2 I plan to play with customizing a few themes for HeroesNHunks. Each new look will be viewed for a week or 2 and then I will try out another. Once I have 5 to choose from (including the original) I’ll be holding another poll to see what the look and feel of the site will be for the next year or so.
Thoughts? Cool? or do you fear change?

After a 2 day struggle following my OLD webhost refusing to help me after the site crashed (their only offer was to move me to a dedicated server for 12 times what I was paying). Moving the site to another host proved more daunting than I imagined. Downloading and replacing the files was simple but time-consuming. Once I’d done that I realized I needed something else and eventually figured out that was the .sql database.
I then spent 2 days trying to get the database uploaded after I figured out how to export it. Turns out the default settings I used to export it were incorrect – I found a site with the correct settings and then it all worked PERFECTLY!
But I lost 2 days in the meantime so I don’t have time to blog today and too bad – so much to talk about – will have to catch up on Batgirl, Xfactor Mighty Avengers and some other stuff I liked this week over the weekend – I have to catch up on ACTUAL work.
Also expect a cool announcement of a new smut-filled HNH feature!

I had a rude awakening the other day when I went to start up my PC. It gave me an error message stating the hal.dll was missing or corrupt – it even stumped the geek squad. I’d been on the verge of slurging for a new machine anyway so I just went for it.
I will be busy for a few days digging up old passwords and links etc. so I can get everything up and running on my NEW PC. I think I may be shit outta luck on getting my old bookmarks and saved e-mail – I hadn’t exported them before the meltdown- old computer and drive wouldn’t boot so I can’t run the programs again to export. I can access all my saved files thank my lucky stars.
Any suggestions?

The graphics (everything from identity and invites to website and occupancy signs) for the TRIGGER launch this week is keeping me completely swamped. I barely had the time to READ my comics this week, much less blog about it. Good News! With the TRIGGER grand opening this Friday May 1st I will have more free time to babble about porn ‘n’ comics. So don’t give up on me yet.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. It really helped. My week definitely got better after a horrible Sunday night and Monday morning. Big fight that started over something small (in the grand scheme of things at least).
Anyway – feeling much better and will have some posts for HeroesNHunks over the weekend Perhaps later today if I have time – really busy working on ad campaign for a new club opening in the Castro – called TRIGGER.

I’m going to the GayVN Awards here in San Francisco next week, so I’m starting to work up a short list of fascinating interview questions to ask the boys if I get a chance.
I want most of them to be somehow related to some type of geekified subject… Here’s a first draft. I’m still editing at this point. I though of this feature after a friend of mine told me that a straight mutual friend of ours was checking out my blog at work to read about the protests and got caught with gay smut onscreen by some co-workers. Sorry about that dude. Have them read this – I can attest that you are as straight as you are likely to be late to your own party (which is quite likely if you know him).
I can’t change the past and undo you gettin busted, but I AM implementing Safe For Work (SFW) and Not Safe For Work (NSFW) tags on ALL posts past present and future. I want ALL my geek friends to feel comfortable on this site.

I know there is alot of talk about the record numbers of African American California voters who showed up in droves to elect Barack Obama (YAY!) and eliminate my legal right to marry a member of the same sex (BOO!).
I want to say that do not misdirect your anger. I’m hearing news of No on 8 protesters verbally abusing random African Americans with hate speech (yes THAT word). NOT COOL PEOPLE! That is the exact opposite of what needs to be done. By sinking to that level not only do you step right into the image that may have made that person vote Yes on 8 (and likely an image spoon fed them by a pastor or other “person of faith”) but also you never know you could be yelling at an African American, straight but supportive or flaming homosexual NO on 8 voter. SHAME ON ANYONE WHO DOES THAT!!!!!!
We need to reach out to the people who were lied to by the Mormon Church – make them realize the underhanded way they were tricked. There are many people who voted for Prop 8 who wouldn’t have had they truly seen the parallels between African American and LGBT quests for civil rights. We may not be the first group of people to kick around under cloak of faith and feel good about it, but GOD WILLING we will be the last.

Despite the sweeping Obama victory, the close, apparent (fingers crossed on that 4% but not holding my breath) passing of Proposition 8 severely bummed me out. I just don’t understand how someone can vote in the country’s very first African American president while in the same breath choosing to eliminate rights from a minority group. Also it REALLY chaps my ass that the Fucking Utah Mormons can poke their noses into California politics by pouring millions of their tax-free dollars into the Yes on 8 campaign. I want to see any politically outspoken Church lose it’s tax exempt status. If they want to share the hateful christian “faithful political perspective” in their sermons and homilies, fine. But the second they spend one tax exempt dime on a media campaign meant to influence politics and government that is crossing the line between Church and State.
Well that was my rant. My sweet Popapathy sent me the best letter to help put things in perspective… here it is.
Even though it’s a set back, there are mitigating circumstances that will hopefully minimize this insult to nothing more than a tiresome, expensive court showdown, a historical anachronism. because this will be appealed somehow. Don’t let it get you down. Remember:
it’s at best a sad last gasp of an entirely repudiated party and ideology.
the larger battle was won, with Obama in, the legal jeopardy is minimized because domestic partnerships (which everyone in the whole world supports apparently) protect us on so many fronts.
as an amendment, it really doesn’t change anything, we’ll still get to visit each other in the hospital.
the kids growing up now, will never support this and will change it, federally maybe.
in the perspective of recent history, it was just the late seventies that we were de-listed as a mental disorder, the nineties, when sodomy lost its sex offender felony status, and barely 2000 for the passing of widespread domestic partnership provisions.
So we’ve come far in a short amount of time, let them have some time to adjust and have this desperate act, all the better to shame them in history’s unstinting glare because eventually it will be trivial.

The flier I created for Lookout’s and Lord Martine’s ACTIVATE!’s Halloween Funhouse is popping up all over San Francisco’s Castro. While I was suffering from that crippling spyware infestation, I ended up breaking down and looking for a game that I could play without internet, and decided on Neverwinter Nights 2. Its not really all that new, but i hadn’t played it despite enjoying the original and actual traditional D&D.
Well now Cynn Abyr is a level 14 Sorcerer / Level 1 Red Dragon Disciple and I’m hooked so bad it has totally interfered with my blogging, not to mention actual life. Rest assured over the weekend while other bloggers rest, there will be some more comics previews, my picks from the 27th and some beefcake just for you!
