Jon Favreau says they’ve been focussed on getting Hulk out there. Well it’s out there so, Marvel talk to the driector of your biggest hit ever about what he’ll can do for you next… I could deal with someone else doing Iron Man 2 if Favreau gets to do the Avengers (which he refers to as “the fun one”).
I’m loving these backstories revealing how people were replaced and this week we get to findout when the PymSkrull took out Hank. looks like it may take the dangers of rebound sex to a new level.
Ka-zar strolls into the fray in New Avengers 41. Should have seen that coming, duh! it IS the Savage Land! If I hadn’t been so distracted by the skrullapalooza I’d have expected him to show up before this. Especially since I just read he had a fling with Mockingbird when she was plain old S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Barbara Morse! From the line up down the the Savage Land, Bendis loves confusing triangles.
I’ve always been partial to Ka-zar, and its not just because he is an English nobleman turned jungle lord with the recently waxed body of an underwear model, fabulous hair with no product for miles and his own giant prehistoric sabertooth tiger. OK, maybe it is, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyway he’s showing up in Secret Invasion next Thursday (DON’T FORGET MEMORIAL DAY DELAYS SHIPPING).
He’s looking fine as always. Oh yeah, he brought that woman he’s always with. His beard, Shanna the She-Devil (well in my version anyway).
On the heels of an amazing opening weekend for Iron Man, Marvel has released announcements about a number of future film and TV projects for the heroes of the Marvel Universe…including an Avengers live action big screen epic (I know, I’m not holding my breath just yet, the JLA and Wonder Woman movies were scheduled too, lets hope Marvel sticks to their plans better than DC)
From the Marvel First Quarter 2008 Report:
In order to focus its attention on maximizing the success of an Iron Man sequel and the launch of Thor in the summer of 2010 and because Marvel believes that the summer is the optimal time to launch a new property, the Company will not release a self produced film in 2009. Marvel plans to launch its 2010 film slate with the release of the sequel, Iron Man 2, on April 30, 2010, followed by the launch of Thoron June 4, 2010. Additionally, Marvel is planting its feature film stakes for summer 2011 with an Avengers-themed summer – a two-picture project which will debut on May 6, 2011 with The First Avenger: Captain America (working title), followed by The Avengers in July 2011.
Other projects listed as officially on the books include:
Animated TV shows:Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon: scheduled for Spring 2009 release,
Iron Man: Armored Adventures cartoon: scheduled for Spring 2009 release on Nicktoons, Hulk Gamma Corps cartoon: scheduled for Spring 2009 release and Super Hero Squad cartoon: scheduled for Spring 2009 release
