Wow! Quite an episode! Didn’t see Peter getting Sylar’s power or the resulting conflagration. Future Peter was worried about ripples in the past, well past Peter is making ripples in the future. His decisions will make that future into a super-powered hell on earth. NBC seems to be having technical difficulties with embedding the 2-minute replay, but here is the whole episode!
A heroic soul like Peter with Sylar’s powers and hunger… I think this season is REALLY going places. I figured about Matt and Daphne getting together but for some reason was surprised by Nathan and Tracy. Bad news for those of you who didn’t like the “girl with powers falls in love with flying guy who makes her feel less freakish” storyline last season might wanna go refill the popcorn when you see Tracy and Nathan. Who WAS the mother of Sylars little boy? Why didn’t Peter just telekinetically remove the bullet from Future Peter’s head? Wouldn’t he heal if it was taken out?
Also check out Behind the Eclipse Week 2 where CBR asks the following Questions of Heroes producers…
Is there more to Claire’s origins? What happened to Maury Parkman? How many Tracy Strauss’s are there? Can Peter mimic mimicked abilities? Does H.G.R. drink decaf? Was company founder Carlos Mendez Isaac’s dad? Why wasn’t Clair’s mom affected by the lack of oxygen in the metal crate? Does Adam have any children? Why do we keep seeing future visions of Clair in a past costume (the Odessa cheerleader outfit)? Are there power dampeners on Level 5? Will they ever reveal Kaito’s powers? Why does Sylar still have his telekinesis if he lost his other Volume 1 abilities?
This season, ComicBookResources welcomes us to BEHIND THE ECLIPSE. A weekly Q&A feature where Heroes writers/producers Joe Pokaski and Aron Coliete answer questions sent in by you the viewer about all things “Heroes.” This week’s BTE covers questions raised by the first few episodes of the hit NBC show, entitled “Heroes Volume Thee: Villains.” Send your own questions to heroes@comicbookresources.com
Questions answered include: How many episodes have been produced? What is Heroes: Volume 4 called? Whats up with the Heroes we haven’t seen this season? Can we look forward to more awesome special FX like Daphne’s speedstream? Why was future Hiro still wearing his glasses? Powers… product of blood, brain or adrenaline? What can Claire feel? Can she be killed? Does Sylar eat brains? How dead is Bob? Are the futures we’ve seen this season all the same future? Does Sylar still have all his powers? Is Mohinder the Fly? Why did future Claire think a gun could kill future Peter? Who is Susan Amman? and of course the one question on EVERYONE’s mind… What is future Mr. Muggles up to?
CBR sat down with Masi Oka, a.k.a. Hiro Nakamura to ask him about what the future holds for the new season of “Heroes,” his new speedster Nemesis Daphne and how to deal with your best friend killing you with powers he doesn’t have. Read all about it!

Great episode… The reaction of doc that “Tracy Strauss” tracked down switched my question from “how is Tracy related to Niki?” to “how many of her are there out there?” When Micah found a link, I thought TRIPLETS! But if Niki was engineered, there could be dozens of her… All with different powers?
I do have one problem with Sylar as H.R.G.’s partner. Haven’t they ever read a comic where a villain is conscripted to help with a bigger evil? You ALWAYS wire them with some kind of device that will kill or incapacitate them if out of control (a la Mystique and Sabertooth’s Forge-forged collars in the old X-Factor). Nothing stops Sylar from killing H.R.G. but the desire to please his new “mommy.” I’m surprised he didn’t “save” the villains just to get them alone for all their powers. This mad dog needs a leash.
Another question… does Sylar need a LIVE person to learn their powers? Could he cut open Niki’s dead head and learn super strength? Or does he need to observe the living brain?
Here are some screen shots from Monday night’s episode of Heroes, titled “One of Us one of Them” that showed up this morning on Comics Continuum. Check out their site for more images. Below the images are links to 4 teaser clips from the episode that showed up on CBR this week. ENJOY!
Here is the synopsis/teaser for Monday night’s episode… I would summarize - but I don’t want to actually read it - just cutting and pasting it for those who do.
WHEN FOUR VILLAINS LAY SIEGE TO A BANK, ANGELA (CRISTINE ROSE) SENDS H.R.G. (JACK COLEMAN) AND HER DANGEROUS, NEW WALKING WEAPON IN AFTER THEM — When four ruthless, powerful Villains — “Knox” (guest star Jaime Hector), Flint (guest star Blake Shields), The German (guest star Ken Lally) and Jesse (guest star Francis Capra) — bust into a bank and take hostages, Angela (Cristine Rose) sends H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) and his shocking, new empowered partner in after them. Determined to derail a cataclysmic future, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) must first find what he lost along the way. Meanwhile, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) track Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) and part of “the formula” to Germany, but run afoul of The Haitian (guest star Jimmy Jean-Louis). Horrified by her ability, Tracy Strauss (Ali Larter) leaves Washington, D.C. to search for answers about Niki. A distraught Claire (Hayden Panettiere) asks Meredith (guest star Jessalyn Gilsig) to teach her how to fight. As his romance with Maya (Dania Ramirez) intensifies, Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) finds himself unprepared when his experiment yields some unexpected results. Adrian Pasdar, Greg Grunberg and Zachary Quinto star. Randall Bentley, Ashley Crow, Noah Gray-Cabey, Ronald Guttman and Ntare Mwine guest star.
and what a premiere it was. They have their mojo back big time! It was truly heroic event, starting out with a gala Hollywood party filled with cast members and fans followed by 2 all new hours of Heroes!
This really felt like the first season to me. The suspense was there. The feel of dread when beloved characters are in danger. And I’m sure we’ll have less subtitles this season. The new characters are great. Hiro’s new speeding nemesis Daphne Millbrook has some great effects. Tracy Strauss - the Niki/Jessica Sanders lookalike appears to have a completely different set of powers as she froze the greatest american tabloid reporter (played by William Katt) solid and then accidentally shattered him. (I guess he’s not going to be a recurring character).
Hiro’s new storyline will again have him “save the world.” This time from some sort of apocalyptic death storm somehow created by a formula he is bound by his dead father to protect. Although I enjoyed it at the time (and again in DVD viewing), Heroes Volume 2 now seems like it was filler, sharing enough exposition and putting a myriad of plot point dominos in position to fall for the REAL epic of this season.

Did you watch? Did you like? ot any questions and/or speculations worth sharing? Then comment!!!! This is my favorite show and although nothing is worth the wait we were forced to endure because of the last season’s writer strike, I was not disappointed. In fact it was even better than I’d hoped.
Jay Leno had Kristin Bell on The Tonight Show on Thursday to plug the impending season premiere of Heroes: Volume 3 - Villains! She and Jay banter about being Scottish, what we may expect from this season of Heroes and how she’s more than a little like Elle.
Newsarama posted a spoilerific review of the Season 3 premiere event. I’m not reading anything that gives plot points away so i didn’t even glance at it, but here is the link just for those of you who like to sneak a peak at their presents before they are supposed to.
NBC gave CBR these 6 clips from this season’s premiere episode of Heroes… and though I refuse to watch (so as not to spoil my experience on Monday September 22) I’m passing them on…
OK. I am now officially counting the days until I get watch three hours of Heroes on Monday, September 22. It’s been far too long. An hour-long compilation show airs (8-9 p.m. ET) followed by the spectacular all new, two-hour premiere of Heroes Volume Three: Villains (9-11 p.m. ET). The stars and creators are on the interview circuit.
here are 3 Going Postal webisodes that lead into Season 3… (I’d posted the first 1 before, but include it again for those who missed it.)
Watching these makes me wonder if this season’s “villains” were all that villainous BEFORE the company locked them up. Having the sonic scream guys first name be Echo is a bit on the nose don’t you think?
An interesting tidbit I came across while wiki finding links…
It was stated by Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander during a December 2007 Word Balloon podcast that viewers have seen Angela Petrelli’s powers used on the show, though by Peter and not Angela herself.
So, what powers has Peter used that NO ONE else has????
No Heroics is a new sitcom premiering Thursday September 18 at 10:30 pm on UK channel ITV2. It shows the trials and tribulations of for not-so-ordinary super-joes. I think is has definite promise, and has the potential to become Friends meets the Tick. I hope it makes it a few seasons so we can get it on DVD over here across the pond.
I won’t be reading articles I find about the upcoming season of NBC’s Heroes because I completely LOVE the show and want to be surprised with every twist and turn. That said. I won’t deprive you of links I stumble upon. Here you go. Just don’t tell me anything it says.
Geoff Johns makes an appearance on the CBR Boat Show and talks about his upcoming stint writing an episode of Smallville, and not just any episode. The Legion of Super-Heroes are coming. I’m betting on Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy and Lightning Lad (maybe called Livewire) will be the envoy from the 31st century, any more Legionaries would be ultra-cool geektastic gravy.
Here is a short pilot/teaser for the abandoned Buffy the Vampire Slayer animated series. Development never got further than this short video because networks didn’t want to commit to a show that was too adult/violent for kids but not right for primetime either.
What about the Cartoon Network? Seems like a perfect fit.
This Heroes Season 2 - Villains trailer has been making the rounds. I saw it last night at the movies before my second viewing of Wanted (Popapathy hadn’t seen it) during the pre-trailer commercials…
The Legion of Super Heroes is coming to Smallville! I for one cannot believe it took this long to get the only superheroes who ACTUALLY did visit Smallville (in comics continuity) on the show! For those who didn’t know the only “superheroes” that visited Smallville, Kansas while Clark was Superboy in DC Comics continuity were Saturn Girl, Lightning Lad and Cosmic Boy, the founders of the Legion of Super Heroes from the 31st century. Geoff Johns (author of the eagerly anticipated Legion of 3 Worlds miniseries with art by George Perez) will be writing the episode!
Read the spoilerific Newsarama article if you like. I only read up to the spoilers, but thought I should share anyway… So don’t tell me about it - I’m counting the days until it airs.
if this episode is a good indication of what we can expect, then it looks like the show has regained its footing and returned to the epic storytelling that made it a phenomena in its first year.
Stan Lee and Perry Moore have announced an official partnership. The exact nature of what the partnership is to produce (Feature Film, TV show, Comic Book, Graphic novel) has yet to be revealed, but Stan Lee waltzed into the Comic-Con International: San Diego panel “LGBT Portrayals in Comics and embraced Perry Moore. Moore’s novel, “Hero, published by Hyperion in August 2007, won the Lambda Literary Award in 2008 for best LGBT Children’s/Young Adult novel. Moore is also executive producer of Disney’s Narnia film series.”
OK, just woke up from a nice 10 hour nap. I needed that. Did a quick check for items of interest… found the trailer for the new Iron Man cartoon. Jury is still out on the art style. I like my 3D to look 3D and my hand drawn animation to look hand drawn. But 3D with toonshder puts me off if its too obviously 3D.
