The New Moon toy line has been released and is available at Amazon, but no word on this shirtless action figure of Taylor Lautner as wolf-boy hottie Jacob Black. I hope they haven’t decided not to release it.
This has to be the hottest action figure I’ve seen in awhile. Fingers crossed it isn’t too gay for shelves. If you have the scoop on when/if it will see the light of day, let’s hear it!
which is gayer… Jacob the shirtless wolfboy… or Gay Bob from 1977?
Too bad Jacob Black doesn’t come anatomically correct (and life size).
Its was his birthday but we get the present… This funny vid from everyone’s favorite GayComicGeek shows us how to party like a gay geek and even includes a couple flashes of him in his underoos. ENJOY! And don’t forget to send him a card!
Surprise – he likes it. I’m SOOOOO jealous!!! I WANT ONE!
OK. How many of you went to ComicCon. I think this year I may have to start planning around Christmas and start saving up. I so wanted to go – but I have the wrost financial karma in the summer. Two years in a row I ended up with a deadbeat client who owes me thousands and had no money to go. Which means I ALSO cannot afford the $100 PLUS prices he is going for on ebay…
So is there anyone who bought one to sell (or knows someone) that might be convinced to part with Gleek the Space Monkey for a more reasonable price? i CAN OFFER 2 TIMES COST PLUS… I’d be your best friend, give you a shout out on the blog and offer a soapbox post for the seller to address the readers about anything they want.
Second time in a row that my plans to get to SDCC fell through. If anyone is there or going and for some reason DOESN’T want the exclusive Gleek the Space Monkey that comes with the Wonder Twins, then PLEASE contact me! I’ll gladly pay for the cost of the figure and shipping!
San Diego Comic-Con is just about here, and the folks at MattyCollector wanted to share a little pre-Comic-Con show-stopper with you! Check out the amazing DC Universe Classics Wonder Twins package that features lights and sounds you gotta see to believe!
I’m still trying to see if I can arrange a ride and place to stay for ComicCon – I’m only in San Francisco, it shouldn’t be that hard to get down there. Just hoping I can scrounge up the funds. I MUST HAVE ONE OF THESE!!! Well 2 actually – one to open and one to keep.
They really DO look great. Does anyone know how well the DCUC figures mix in with the DCD line? I have all the DCD Teen Titans as well as a very well stocked DCD JLA and I’d like to mix Zan, Jaynaa nd their space monkey in.
I don’t see Gleek in the packaging tho!!! He does come with this set right?
DC Direct has unveiled the final figure in its upcoming Blackest Night Series 2, the Black Lantern Martian Manhunter. Strangely enough they still haven’t added the Black Lantern from Series 1 – Earth 2 Superman to their own site.
I’m also especially pleased to see a good John Stewart Green Lantern. I only see one flaw… why are his wrist bands a different color of green? and metallic?
You should thank HeroesNHunks commenter “Clark Kent” for pointing out the Blackest Night teaser group shots released at Newsarama. Always appreciate when someone sends me something that improves a post!
It looks like the impending Ms. Lion appearance in The Pet Avengers isn’t the only recent reference to the retro cartoon that aired from 1981 – 1983 (with repeats airing from 1984 – 1986). Marvel Legends revealed prototypes for action figures of the Spider Friends (as Spiderman, Iceman and Firestar were known). The trio has seen recent resurgence in Marvel’s Ultimate Spiderman but Firestar is longtime supporting Spidey character Liz Allen instead of Angelica Jones.
Here’s the intro for you nostalgia buffs out there…

If you were worried that the JLI series 1Ice you are about to buy was going to go without Fire, worry no more! Plus J’onn J’onz, Blue Beetle and a goofy smiling thumbs up Booster Gold. I knew I’d want Fire, but I didn’t think they could make a Beetle, Booster or Martian Manhunter to replace the ones in my display – but I actually want all 4 of this line).
I couldn’t find a DDay linked up with that identifier. Giving up…
According to ComicsContinuum, Hasbro’s Marvel Legends: Nemesis Build-a-Figure Wave, is apparently due Wal-Mart stores this month – YAY!!!! Finally a Tigra to complete my Avengers display! Now if I could only get them to release that classic John Byrne era Storm (that they cruelly teased us with before giving us AoA Sunfire instead) to finish off my Marvel Legends X-Men. If anyone sees an extra Tigra – let me know, as there are no Wal-marts in the San Francisco city limits so I have to resort to ebay toy scalpers.
In addition to the 6-piece build-a-figure Nemesis (1 part per figure – but you don’t have to buy the varients too if you don’t want to – unlike previous non Hasbro ML series), the wave includes Astonishing X-Men Beast, Black Bolt, First Appearance Daredevil, Daredevil, Nova, Tigra, Punisher and Camouflage Punisher.

DC Direct has released images for the first 2 series’ of History of the DC Universe – based on the art of legendary comic book artist George Perez. Both series are due in summer 2009.
Series Two consisting of Aquaman, classic 70’s Black Lighting, the Creeper and the Flash (OK – hardcore Flash fans… lightning belt circling waist marks him as silver age Barry, right?) hits shelves about a month later on July 15 2009.
I am eagerly anticipating Blue Devil, Aquaman (I have the one with the cheesy golden age smile that came with Garth and a giant seahorse), Black Lightning (as cool as the modern age JLA version looks, nostalgia calls for the classic look) and I also want the Flash (which I prefer to the upcoming Justice League of America Series 3 Wally West version)
DC Direct finally unveiled their verison of omnipotent Watchmen beefcake Doctor Manhattan in both statue AND action figure form at 2008 SDCC. I’m not surprised they chose to go with his black speedo instead of capturing his later free balling phase for posterity.

Those of you who were hoping for versions a bit more like the 1950s watchmen are in luck… The modern Wave of Watchmen action figures due out on January 28th 2009 will be followed closely (February 25, 2009) by wave 2, which will consist of 4 classic-era figures… Silk Spectre, the Comedian, Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan (who has yet to be revealed – but I’m betting will be sporting his classic swimsuit instead of the modern free-balling version – just don’t see DCD sculpting a little blue penis on him).

The fate of DCU’s Minimates line is not looking good. There is some talk that there may be more if this weeks Series 8 does well. So PLEASE at least run out an buy block figures of DCU’s superheroic sapphic duo – Batwoman and the Question! I personally think Raven and Cyborg are looking better than their recent miniseries.
I’ve only recently become enamored with the little guys (and I have frogboy to thank for that) so I hope they’ll keep making them. The new smaller figure line is just smaller toys with poorer sculpts than the larger DC Direct but Minimates are something different. That I’ll keep buying if they keep making them.

Finally after a loooong wait, DC Direct has announced the release date and line up for the third wave of action figures based on the recent relaunch of Justice League of America. After a craptastic throwaway line in Series 2, (Batman – has been done better, Hawkgirl – JSA is far superior, Amazo – who cares, and Dr. Impossible – only use is as a bade for Obsidian if you customize), this time they got it right.
Series 3 includes:GEO-FORCE!!!!!! (Yay my psychotic Tara Markov gets to hang near her big bro), Flash, Green Lantern – Hal, and Wonder Woman – I like the Dodson version, but this should appease those who didn’t like that Dodson’s was pre-posed). CHECK THESE OUT!
I couldn’t find a DDay linked up with that identifier. Giving up…

I was pleasantly surprised when i walked into Whatever yesterday and saw the New Teen Titans Judas Contract figures hanging there. Or at least I saw a few Terminators and 1 Robin. Everything else was spoken for or sold already. luckily I reserved my Terra and Jericho weeks ago.
Below is an image I photoshopped from 2 awesome pics posted by someone named elmeaux on DC Direct’s discussion forum.
His lineups are more accurate, but I wanted Terra and Jericho in the same photo. I’ll post some pics of my own DCD Titans and JLU soon. My Marvel Legends X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four as well!
Smallville Absolute Justice airs on the CW for 39 days

Collectors of the stylized JLU inspired action figures really have something to look forward to at SDCC. A planned SDCC exclusive of the size-altering villainess contains not only a regular sized (4 3/4″) Giganta in scale with the other JLU figures, but also an enlarged version (8″) so she can tower over her cohorts in the Legion of Doom. Now if they would only make a Giganta for the regular DCD line, and one in the Alex Ross style for the Justice line, everyone would be happy.

I figure it may take a month if they reveal as much daily as they did on day one. It looks like despite the announced (on some web stores) cancellation of Hasbro ML series 4, we will still get the same lineup (yay Tigra!) by the end of the year at Wal-Mart. A new Target exclusive series with a Red Hulk BAF will have a lineup that includes black costume Spider-Man, black costume Wolverine, Union Jack, Savage Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock (with Infinity Gauntlet) and Spiral.
