Super strength is now possible if you have a Japanese prototype bionic suit intended to aid people with disabilities to walk or lift heavy objects. I can find articles as far back as 2005, but this video of Hal 3 (hybrid assistive limb)popped up on MySpace this morning.
I hope it’s only a matter of time until they can miniaturize the technology, add armor plating, flight capability and repulsor rays! We’ll have Iron Man for real any day now.
DC Direct finally unveiled their verison of omnipotent Watchmen beefcake Doctor Manhattan in both statue AND action figure form at 2008 SDCC. I’m not surprised they chose to go with his black speedo instead of capturing his later free balling phase for posterity.
Those of you who were hoping for versions a bit more like the 1950s watchmen are in luck… The modern Wave of Watchmen action figures due out on January 28th 2009 will be followed closely (February 25, 2009) by wave 2, which will consist of 4 classic-era figures… Silk Spectre, the Comedian, Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan (who has yet to be revealed - but I’m betting will be sporting his classic swimsuit instead of the modern free-balling version - just don’t see DCD sculpting a little blue penis on him).
the fate of DCU’s Minimates line is not looking good. There is some talk that there may be more if this weeks Series 8 does well. So PLEASE at least run out an buy block figures of DCU’s superheroic sapphic duo - Batwoman and the Question! I personally think Raven and Cyborg are looking better than their recent miniseries.
I’ve only recently become enamored with the little guys (and I have frogboy to thank for that) so I hope they’ll keep making them. The new smaller figure line is just smaller toys with poorer sculpts than the larger DC Direct but Minimates are something different. That I’ll keep buying if they keep making them.
Well looks like they clam to have done something about its lethargy and cost, now lets hope it will play flash content properly. People trying to look at this page with an iPhone can’t see the videos because common embed codes use flash.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m psyched that Torchwood is getting a toy line by GetRetro. its just that these look a bit stiff to me. Maybe I’ll feel differently when I see these in person.
Captain Jack Harkness is the latest on a short list of Gay, Bisexual or Lesbian character to be turned into action Figures. Preceded by Alpha Flight’s Northstar (figure by Toybiz), and the Authority’s Apollo & Midnighter (figures by DC Direct)
Finally after a loooong wait, DC Direct has announced the release date and line up for the third wave of action figures based on the recent relaunch of Justice League of America. After a craptastic throwaway line in Series 2, (Batman - has been done better, Hawkgirl - JSA is far superior, Amazo - who cares, and Dr. Impossible - only use is as a bade for Obsidian if you customize), this time they got it right.
Series 3 includes:GEO-FORCE!!!!!! (Yay my psychotic Tara Markov gets to hang near her big bro), Flash, Green Lantern - Hal, and Wonder Woman - I like the Dodson version, but this should appease those who didn’t like that Dodson’s was pre-posed). CHECK THESE OUT!
Justice Leage of America Series 3 ships in 124 days
I was pleasantly surprised when i walked into Whatever yesterday and saw the New Teen Titans Judas Contract figures hanging there. Or at least I saw a few Terminators and 1 Robin. Everything else was spoken for or sold already. luckily I reserved my Terra and Jericho weeks ago.
His lineups are more accurate, but I wanted Terra and Jericho in the same photo. I’ll post some pics of my own DCD Titans and JLU soon. My Marvel Legends X-Men, Avengers and Fantastic Four as well!
DC Direct’s George Perez Inspired New Teen Titans Action Figures, wave 2 has been on shelves for 116 days
Nah, don’t get yourself all excited, its just the toys. CBR reported a press release from NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music and Consumer Products Group and Mezco Toyz about the Heroes action figures due this summer. I didn’t see anything I didn’t already know, but here’s a link for the rest of you….
Here is the first installment of a new section. I’ve recently gotten interested in the custom action figure market. There are some amazing pieces out there. If you take the time to wade through all the paint covered toys people call customs, there are some beautiful works of art that have factory perfect paint applications and custom sculpted details and accessories. I’ll pass them on as I find them, and try to do so in time for y’all to bid.
Here is an animated gif displaying some of his other masterworks… I can’t seem to find a website or official gallery for Wanderer-X, but click on the animation to see ALL his items currently for auction Please send any leads if you see one.
And no, I don’t know him. Wish I did, I could get him to make me Storm in her original Giant Size X-Men outfit, Dazzler, a decent Scarlet Witch and a Polaris.
Thanks to Fanboys of the Universe for writing about the new Star Wars Muppets that Disney will be selling exclusively at their many Amusement Parks around the world. Check out the backstory of how Muppets met Star Wars in this article at the official Star Wars website.
This isn’t this first time that a toy company has tried to make toys of these crossover characters. Attempts to include a Star Wars wave of Palisades Toys Muppets action figure line (alas neither Palisades nor the action figure line remains) were stopped by the Lucas side for legal reasons, but then again I bet Disney has deeper pockets.
Collectors of the stylized JLU inspired action figures really have something to look forward to at SDCC. A planned SDCC exclusive of the size-altering villainess contains not only a regular sized (4 3/4″) Giganta in scale with the other JLU figures, but also an enlarged version (8″) so she can tower over her cohorts in the Legion of Doom. Now if they would only make a Giganta for the regular DCD line, and one in the Alex Ross style for the Justice line, everyone would be happy.
I know this isn’t the usual kind of toy I review, but why limit myself. FleshJack’s new Ice Jack is a clear version of the original FleshJack (the gay Fleshlight) for those who find the original flesh color disembodied mouth or asshole a bit creepy. I found it to be a quality, well made product that delivers on its intent. Plus the transparent version is kind of hot to see in use.
Through FleshJack’s website you can design your own Fleshjack by choosing between butt and mouth orifices or pick the discreet nonrepresentational hole if you don’t want your toy to give away your orientation, sleeve types (including Speed Bump, Wonder Wave, Super Ribbed, Ultra Tight, Super Tight, Original) and color, Black White, Silver or new clear ice. Their ad videos are hot - I know Johnny Castle is straight - put he’s sooo pretty.
The only difficulty I had with it was the screw on cap at the small end tends to go off groove and requires careful handling, but that’s really only needed for storing it. It is a bit pricier than some of the more disposable sleeve toys I’ve tested… But then again if it doesn’t self destruct after a real world pumping, it will come out WAY ahead.
I figure it may take a month if they reveal as much daily as they did on day one. It looks like despite the announced (on some web stores) cancellation of Hasbro ML series 4, we will still get the same lineup (yay Tigra!) by the end of the year at Wal-Mart. A new Target exclusive series with a Red Hulk BAF will have a lineup that includes black costume Spider-Man, black costume Wolverine, Union Jack, Savage Silver Surfer, Adam Warlock (with Infinity Gauntlet) and Spiral.

MANY more NYCC Marvel Legends image revelations after the jump… (more…)
Hasbro has unveiled a number of figures for their new DC Classics line. In addition to the Wonder Woman and Cyborg previously released, They revealed The Atom (Ray Palmer), Amazo, Captain Atom (DCU and Wildstorm versions), Despero, Ares, Riddler, Batman (Beyond), Artemis, Lobo and what I’m guessing is a Metallo Build a figure? If anyone recognizes the robo guy let me know.

I have to admit, I’m genuinely surprised these are looking good. From the artwork, I thought I was going to hate these. But now i will actually buy that Ice (I was previously livid about it being her Global Guardians costume) While I would still prefer the furry boots version (and will replace this if the modern Tora ever comes out), this is actually a very solid depiction of a much loved character. The Batman, G’Nort and Black Canary look great too (but there is just no way you could interest me in Disco Dinah).
