If you liked this, try these...I;ve been wondering this for myself and I KNOW what the words mean. I think it may be a tough sell since I’d be willing to put money on the fact that a large percentage of the American movie-going public will not know what EITHER word means.
Quantum is defined as: The smallest physically realizable unit of something. Solace is: Comfort or consolation in a time of distress. So basically someone is in distress and someone else shows as little support as possible.

Some oldies but goodies.
Me First and the Gimme Gimmes are a punk rock supergroup cover band drawn together by a mutual love of 1960s and 1970s music. The Gimme Gimmes have covered songs from such artists as Cat Stevens, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel, R. Kelly and John Denver.

First off, Umphrey’s McGee with Glory, The Star Spangled Banner and the end of Ringo…
next… a musical United States Flag animation of Star-Spangled Banner by Eric Rogers Chorale and Orchestra.
Then a random video compilation of fireworks from San Jose July 4th 2006 over a pre-crack Whitney’s 1991 Superbowl performance.
And finally… a heckuva display from Disney MGM!
Happy Fourth of July!!!!

GeneCo, a multi-billion dollar biotech company emerges from a global epidemic of organ failures. GeneCo provides organ transplantation, but if you don’t keep up your organ payments, they send “organ repo men”, skilled assassins ordered to recover GeneCo’s property by any means necessary.
Organ repo man, Nathan Wallace (Anthony Head) has kept his a 17 year-old daughter Shilo (Alexa Vega) who has a a rare blood disease locked away from the outside world. While Shilo struggles with her wish to leave the house and experience the outside world, Nathan struggles with his job as the repo man, and more specifically, his next target is Shilo’s godmother, a woman named Blind Mag (Sarah Brightman).
At the heart of GeneCo there is the Largo family, company president Rotti and patriarch (Paul Sorvino), daughter Amber (Paris Hilton) and sons Luigi and Pavi (Bill Moseley and Nivek Ogre, respectively). Rotti is dying, and the three siblings bicker about who gets to run things.
I’d never heard of “internet celebrity” Matthew Harding a.k.a. Dancing Matt - but this is awesome. 14 months in the making, 42 countries, and a cast of thousands.

Not saying it is good, just that you should see it for life experience. And YES I’m filing this under comedy, so if you genuinely like this song, I’m sorry.

If you liked this, try these...I happened upon a song by English pop singer Shayne Ward (had never heard of him before) on a mySpace friends page and I liked his romantic voice well enough to search for other songs and dug this up. I thought it was beautiful (I don’t claim to be any music expert, in fact far from it, but I know what I like. Ward won the second series of British television music talent show The X Factor.
Anyway, its a pretty song and its dedicated to popapathy. You can buy his import album here if you like it.
So if YOU know music and are interested in contributing drop a comment with your e-mail, I’m looking for a music reviewer… I prefer to stick to what I know.
A few more of his songs after the jump…

Watched Little Shop of Horrors with popapathy last week so when I came across this gem on queerty, I had to post it. I’d seen the episode before, but missed the viral clip. So better late than never, here is the Griffen’s wacky pedophile neighbor Herbert reprising Ellen Green’s timeless ode to plastic coated life in a 50’s suburb as seen by one who lives downtown.
I want to mention something that Queerty made me think of… Why am I NOT offended by this? I’m not sure. The first time I saw the Herbert character “that is so wrong”is really all that came to mind. I still have the same thought every time I see him, but yet I laugh my ass off.

speaking of “so wrong”, pedophiles and laughing my ass off… here’s “Pedophile Gladiators” from acceptable.tv (more from them later - but its old stuff, I don’t think they are producing anymore unfortunately).
This goes out to the Muppet fans out there - you know who you are…
A grad student made this little short, splicing together some vintage Muppet Show footage with Peaches’ “Fuck the Pain Away” so that we can all appreciate a slightly more updated, bawdier Piggy telling us all how she really gets through the night when Kermit scorns her.

I don’t watch American Idol. Oddly enough after managing to avoid it all season, I channel-surfed upon the final 15 minutes while killing time before South Park and noticed my digital cable said “winner Announced” so decided to stop to see who was going to win for once.
The ladies sang Faith. The gents sang Father Figure. Together they sang Freedom. Unfortunately, Elia Stone was NOT hallucinating the whole thing. It really happened. It was like the bad musical number during awards shows but worse. Then George Michael arrived and they all shut up thank god. George sang, Paula wept and I snoozed (I like George Michael, but that song, no).
When they announced the winner…. DAVID COOK as American Idol 2008, I didn’t know it was the bearded David until the little David left.
The crowd sure seemed emotional enough, but the song didn’t grab me. But then what do I know. I don’t like “Praying for Time” either.

Popapthy was amused but had no idea who Elaine Stritch was so I threatened to take away his gay card and had to go on a youtube tear to demonstrate the talent of someone whose been a great old broad since 1970.
Here she is from a behind the scenes look (part 1 of 2) of the final song taped during the initial recording session for the 1970 Company Original Cast Album. Check out her pupils. She knew how to party. Well it WAS 1970.
