ASSEMBLE the roster Avengers SDCC 2011 Movie Posters
Over San Diego Comicon week, Marvel released a series of teaser images for next summer’s most anticipated blockbuster-to-be… The Avengers. in conjunction with their launching the official (albeit spartanly populated) movie site for the much anticipated 2012 feature film starring (clockwise from lower left in first image): Chris Evans as Captain America, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, a CGI Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Robert Downey Jr. in the latest Iron Man armor and Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow.

Although for some reason, there was NOT a SDCC 2011 panel dedicated to 2012′s future summer blockbuster The Avengers, Director Joss Whedon spoke at Comicon and of course, it came up. To hear what he has to say about The Avengers tune in around 39:08. Full clip includes news and insights on everything Joss… even favorites from Buffy (spin-off titles, the Season 9 comic and her Broadway potential), Angel, Faith, Firefly and Dollhouse.
Now that the dust has settled around the insanity that is SDCC, I’ll be posting articles detailing some of the more interesting tidbits, so stay tuned.
