Charlie McDonnell is a 19 year English Whovian, Video-Blogger and Musician from Bath, Somerset who is known on YouTube as charlieissocoollike. He plays in a band called Chameleon Circuit that specializes in songs about Doctor Who (they really aren’t bad! – you can listen for yourself on his webpage). Love his Captain Hammer T-Shirt but not the ukulele.

And here’s another vid of Charlie playing with himself but not in THAT way. He puts up videos on YouTube not xTube. He does a great job of combining the audio to duet with himself.

Here is a video made by one of their fans (SmilingLimpet) for the Chameleon Ciurcuit song “An Awful Lot of Running.”

Check out the comments to see a video of another Whovian vlogger who is part of Chameleon Circuit… David Tennent’s teen lookalike – LittleRadge.

  1. One of the other vloggers in that Doctor Who inspired fan band is also pretty cute and amusing, the one that looks somewhat like David Tennant. (LittleRadge as scattered across the internet.)

And HERE’S LITTLERADGE…. OK, who let the David Tennant clone out of its vat before the aging process was complete? These things REALLY shouldn’t be wandering around unsupervised. Especially when they aren’t fully cooked. BTW in case you missed it, Captain Obvious says… he IS kidding.

Here he is with 17 definitions for Trock (Time Lord Rock)…

I really appreciate the mention of Doctor Who for a couple reasons:
    (1) The resurgence of the franchise in the last few years has brought Doctor Who to a whole new generation AND boosted its appeal thanks to the excellently inclusive writing (cough cough, Captain Jack, cough cough). It’s probably the gayest sci-fi out there, although Caprica might be giving it a run for its money with hunky Sam Adama and his husband…
    (2) My parents named me after a Tom Baker/Peter Davidson era companion of the Doctor and any reference to the show in the US always makes me happy.
    (3) The idea of fan songs ABOUT Doctor Who totally makes my evening. Thank you thank you.

You’re very welcome! Glad you been lurking out there and even gladder you commented!

    (1) popapathy and I have been getting hooked on Who. He grew up on the original so we started with season 1 of the modern version and are about 2/3 through season 2. LOVE it! I actually saw Torchwood BEFORE really getting into Who. I’m also REALLY enjoying Caprica (which has led us to start watching the modern BSG too). I picked up on Sam being gay (the line about hitting on the brothers of the girls his brother liked), but missed his hubby. Was he at the inking ceremony?

    (2) aw, glad I could help. I’ll be including more Who stuff as I get into it more!

    (3) I throught they were pretty cool too. And so adorkable. I love how he says “don’t judge us” every time he explains they sing about Dr Who.

  5. It is so awesome to “meet” someone named after a companion, one of the first companions I ever encountered. Cool name!

I LOVE Chameleon Circuit. I discovered them on youtube a while ago and immediately downloaded their album. I play it for all my fellow Who Fans, and they all get kick out of it. Charlie is very fun, and I subscribe to his channel. I’m glad he’s getting some popularity. I look forward to running into him one day, stopping, point at him and yell “I FOUND YOU!” I’ll get a nifty button out of it!
