Dark X-Men #2 – The return of Nate Grey a.k.a. X-Man!
I must say that the combination of Mystique’s new Jean Grey persona and blue and white Dark X-Men uniform is sheer brilliance. A beautiful homage to her original white belted tunic costume. I’m SO happy that Nate’s coming back to 616 continuity, but I hope he doesn’t end up a prisoner in Norman Osborne’s “Omega Machine.”
X-MAN, A.K.A. NATE GRAY IS BACK! Sadly, the X-Men that he first encounters are Norman Osborn’s X-Men and they don’t like the idea of an Omega-level mutant that won’t tow the company line. Do they have a chance of defeating X-Man? And if they don’t, what does that mean to Osborn’s agenda?
Now that Nate has gotten up to speed on the status quo of the Marvel u since he’s been gone, it should be a bit harder to trick him into a trap.

When I was younger Nate Grey always made me curious since it was a weirdly straight forward sexy design even if I think they might have been going for dark badass. (Still less freakish than Cable though) I think he died at a time when they weren’t really putting things into trade so I never read any of it though.
And I haven’t been reading Dark X-Men yet but I do love the mystique design too. Did she have that look as recently as that solo series mostly written by Brian K. Vaughan?

I think Mystique mostly wore a catsuit during that series, but I think she DID sport variations on her classic costume a few times during the run. But noone has done what Leanord Kirk has done with it and make something that is equal part skintight x-men bodysuit and homage to her original free flowing tunic and belt costume.
