(2 votes, average: 5.00 out of 5)I’ve been a fan of the Imperial Guard since I first read about them back in the original Dark Phoenix Saga. They fought the X-Men to a standstill with the fate of Jean Grey in the balance, giving them a special place in my memory ever since.
Gladiator is emperor of the Shi’Ar! His squadron, the Imperial Guard, is the ultimate law! But what is it like to live and work in this infamous legion as they attempt to keep their empire from disintegrating into the chaos of civil war.

Just as the Squadron Supreme was a Marvel homage to the Justice League, the Imperial Guard was created as a thinly veiled version of the 70’s Legion of Super Heroes. I’m excited to see what it’s like to be one of Gladiator’s The Imperial Guard during this time of great change in the outer Marvel Universe.

I always like the Imperial Guard when the are clearly an analogy for the Legion of Super-Heroes. It’s a great opportunity for Marvel to show DC how the Legion should be done. Especially since DC is squandering the Legion now.
I always enjoyed picking out who in the Guard is who in the Legion.

Wow. It seems like Marvel keeps putting out more and more titles although I have enjoyed the guard in the X-Men titles. I also really enjoyed the recent storyline with the War between Vulcan and the Shiar.
