Now I hate to be the one falling for stereotypes, but I have to call one when I see one and The Gotham arrival of the pink-clad, fussy and fastidious yet fabulously ferocious new bat-foe known as the Flamingo smacks of the “amoral aristocratic bitchy queen type.” I’m not sure if Morrison would be that obvious, but maybe. We haven’t had a good gay Batman villain in awhile (now that Captain Stingaree and the Cavalier appear to be out of commission), so its good to be part of Bat’s Rogues Gallery. I still prefer to see new LGBT characters pop up on the side of the angels, but I’ll take what we can get. Stay tuned to see what his story is… and where he got that awesome coat!

Not really sure if I like the new characters, but hey they need to come up with something to battle the heroes. It’s nice to see new characters come out.

I love new characters in Batman. If I live to be a hundred, I’d be happy to never see the Joker again. This guy looks like he’ll make for a good (interesting?) villain.
Gay? Bi? Metrosexual? or just European?
Maybe all of the above.

Flamingo is actually a direct rip of a VERY similar character called the Flamingo who appeared as the Joker analogue to the Batman-stand in Knight Watchman in Big Bang Comics. Big Bang’s Flamingo (and KW, for that matter) were pretty openly gay — Flamingo’s mother wanted a girl and raised him as one, and several comments were made about how their parents had wished them to be “closer friend,” etc etc etc.

I don’t know if it’s obvious to anyone else but isn’t this guy just and older looking Prince on the cover of Purple Rain?

I think I work with that guy, Pink Flamingo. That bitchy queen used to be my boss.
