You might remember the action figure of muscular 80’s Porn Star Billy Herrington that was released in Japan due to a peculiar cult-like following he has developed there. He’s “big in Japan” but I just don’t understand – it must be a cultural thing. Anyway – this is even odder than the action figure. Its a fan-made video game parody called Ultimate Muscle Roller Legend where a jockstrap-clad Billy Herrington struggles to save his mystical forest by chasing a morphing steamroller-bot while riding another crouching musclestud in tighty whities. Plus you appear to shift gears by giving him the old reacharound, speed up by slapping his ass and have energy weapons in the form of a giant laser spitting baby head hidden in Billy’s cup. I kid you not.
SYNOPSIS: Deep in the forest lived Billy and his charming companions. They peacefully honed their bodies and listened to music there. But a wave of development came upon the forests. One who would turn all to road. Kagamine Rin had come. Billy must stop the construction before all is turned to road.
Affectionately called “Brother” (兄貴 aniki), Billy Herrington has become an internet meme among the Japanese video sharing community after a clip from one of his videos ‘Workout’ was posted on Nico Nico Douga, inspiring over 2000 very odd video parodies. Most of his videos are deliberately tagged with “Forest Fairy” (森の妖精 mori no yousei), “Philosophy”, or both.
If you’d like to catch him onscreen with odd anime characters floating over his genitals – check these out.
Yesterday (9/27/09) Popapathy and I made our annual pilgrimage to the Folsom Street Fair. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it is one of the biggest gay high holy days here in San Francisco (right up there with Pride and the Castro Street Fair). The usual throng of leathermen (and women), exhibitionists and gawkers like myself slowly milled about 5 blocks Folsom Street. There was drinking dancing, spanking and shopping for everyone. Photos are from Popapathy’s Folsom Fair picasa album.
Memorable moments included someone ejaculating onto the crowd from a 3rd story window (missed me), a drunk mess dropping his beer after saying “I know what you are thinking and I’m not THAT GUY” – “that guy” being “the drunken mess that walks up to you and immediately spills his drink”, and Popapathy’s alternative lifestyle companion wondering why “is that cop leading that twink in the head-to-toe latex bodysuit” and not noticing the “cop’s” uniform was leather.
As usual a concise and well thought out review from the GayComicGeek. I keep waiting to disagree with him. I may have to peruse his complete archive and find something to argue about to prove I’m not a shill.
I read this last year and REALLY enjoyed the book. There really aren’t many books out there in the superhero/young adult genre and as far as I know this is the only one about a gay character. Hero is supposed to be “in development” to become a TV show with the backing of Stan Lee himself. I pretty much agree with most of his points. It was a great read but occasionally is a bit predictable if you really know your superhero cliches.

With the recent trend of bringing the issue # on long-running titles that had rebooted at #0 back to their original numbering, DC has asked readers to decide if they should bring WONDER WOMAN up to 600 as of issue #45 of the current run. They said if they 600 cards saying to renumber, they will. Two weeks in to the WONDER WOMAN #600 campaign and they’ve already crossed the midway point. As of Friday September 25th, 324 postcards have been sent in from fans asking for WONDER WOMAN’s numbering to be reverted to #600 at the appropriate time.
If you want to see this happen, send your postcards to this address:

John Scot Barrowman was born 11 March 1967 in Mount Vernon, Glasgow in Scotland and lived there until he was 8 when his father’s job with the Caterpillar heavy machinery company relocated his family to Joliet Il, in the US. He is best known for his role as the bisexual rogue Captain Jack Harkness on Dr. Who and the spin-off series Torchwood, but he has another side less known to many of his fans… love ballad crooner – in addition of at least 6 CDs of songs he also had singing parts in De-Lovely and The Producers.
He attended Joliet West High School and was very active in theatre even as a student performing in Hello, Dolly!, Oliver!, Camelot, Li’l Abner and Anything Goes between 1983-1985.. He went to college in San Diego, but returned to the UK after graduation and debuted in 1989 as Billy Crocker in the London West End production of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes. He later reprised the role for Trevor Nunn’s 2003 West End Revival.
He is probably best known in the United States for starring roles in several short-lived prime-time soap operas such as Titans with Yasmine Bleeth in 2000 and Central Park West, as well as the low-budget cult film Shark Attack 3. Barrowman was under consideration for the role of Will in the popular US series Will and Grace but the producers felt he was "too straight" and the role went to Eric McCormack instead, who is heterosexual. "The sad thing is it’s run by gay men and women," said Barrowman in a January 2006 article. He later expressed contempt for the idea that all gay men act the same way.
The character’s wild popularity prompted the network to give Captain Jack Harkness his own spin-off series Torchwood. The series, set in modern day Cardiff, follows the exploits of the Captain and Torchwood, which was created by Queen Victoria in order to protect the UK from extraterrestrial threats. Barrowman reprised the role in the 2007 Doctor Who episodes "Utopia", "The Sound of Drums" and "Last of the Time Lords", the two-part 2008 series finale, "The Stolen Earth" and "Journey’s End". and the "Doctor Who: Tonight’s the Night" special written by Russell T. Davies.
Although his character Captain Jack Harkness left Earth at the end of the 5 part Season 3, fans shouldn’t lose heart – Barrowman will still be showing up on the telly, but it may not be on Torchwood (even though Season 4 has been confirmed). He’s been meeting with the powers that be at Desperate Housewives! If cast, do you his character will be gay, bi or straight?
Barrowman has been with his partner, Architect Scott Gill, since the two met met during a 1991 production of Rope at the Chichester Festival Theatre. The couple have homes in London and Penarth, South Wales and are the proud caretakers of a Jack Russel Terrier named Captain Jack, and two Cocker Spaniels names Charlie and Harris.
Here are links to the all three seasons of Torchwood on DVD, his autobiographies and a few film credits.

I’m SO glad Dollhouse was picked up for a second season (and not only because of a rumor I heard that if it didn’t Joss would give up on TV). The show took a few episodes to catch it’s stride but once it did, they kept getting more and more exciting. If you want to refresh your memory about the season finale, It is the second video below and Newsarama was kind enough to write up this recap of season one.
This season needed a new enemy to the dollhouse (since former FBI Special Agent Paul Ballard has gone frenemy as the Echo’s new handler) and it got one in the form of Senator Daniel Perrin (Buffy and Angel alum Alexis Dennisof – hubby to Alyson Hannigan) who is out to shine a governmental light on the dealings of the minds behind the Dollhouse… the Rossum Corporation.
I don’t want to give away too much so I’ll just say it’s set years in the future and centers around the horrifying pandora’s box that get’s opened when the Dollhouse goes wireless. I REALLY hope this will air at some time, knowing what they will unleash will make watching it unfold even more amazing a ride. If you won’t be able to watch the DVD – read the summary before checking out this season.
OF INTEREST: Interview with Joss Whedon where he mentions that the artist on his Atstonishing X-Men run will be directing an episode this season.
Interview Eliza Dushku on Life After Film School where she talks about Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Tru Calling and how Dollhouse happened.
Watching now! So Lois is back from the future… but who is this bitch in black after her? Oh Oh she has heat vision! A brunette Andromeda a.k.a. Laurel Gand? can’t be Laurel Kent – she only has invulnerability. Hmm neither – she’s one of Zod’s.
COOL! Clark wears the S Shield! I saw preview photos but still a cool moment. Though I preferred the moment from the first issue of Geoff Johns Superman: Secret Origin – his mother making the costume and him being embarrassed to wear it was priceless. They should REALLY let him loose on Smallville for more than just the one episode (JSA!!!!) that he is penning this season. Or better yet a new movie OR TRILOGY! But I digress and the commercial is almost over…
Does Chloe not know her cousin Lois at ALL??? She fell for the old “I need a sedative” bit?
Ok who else is considering kneeling before Zod? Tess might take a shot at it if he gets past her “obstinate” side.
Brian Austin Green is part of the cast now? Metropolis’ kissing bandit? What’s that about? Hmm John Corben? a.k.a. Metallo!!!
The clocktower set is shaping up nicely.
They are following Smallville with America’s Top Model? I hope that isn’t a choice for the season. Is something else premiering soon? If not no worries – then I can turn to Medium!
What I don’t get is why did Lois come back from 1 YEAR in the future, shouldn’t it have taken her to the Legion’s era?
Oliver Queen ULTIMATE FIGHTER!
here is a recap of last season for those who missed some of it…

Now what? Why did it happen, How did it happen? Will it happen again? All good questions and ones that will likely take AT LEAST a season to answer. This is an interesting concept. The premiere didn’t totally blow my mind, but it was watchable. The premise has merit and I look forward to seeing how the show will develop.
When the world’s population is given a glimpse of their future due to a mysterious global event, it forces everyone to come to grips with whether their destinies can be fulfilled or avoided.
Cast include Joseph Fiennes as the lead – FBI Agent Mark Benford and John Cho (Harold of Harold and Kumar) as Special Agent Demetri Noh. Those with an eye for faces will notice Family Guy creator Seth Macfarlane in a dramatic role as FBI Agent #5. He was invited to be a part of the pilot an apparently will continue to make cameos. Oh yeah there was also a Kangaroo running through the street. Odd show.
I don’t know why this magenta monster has never really done it for me as a JLA villain, perhaps its his coloring (is that a hate crime?), or maybe it was the time he spent in freaky-friday mode with L-Ron, but I just can’t take him seriously as a major menace. Oooooh its Despero! I wish I could get more excited about it because this is writer James Robinson’s first issue and will likely set the tone for at least the next dozen stories of the JLA.
It’s the start of a spanking new odyssey for the JLA that will lead in the coming months to a fresh line-up for DC’s flagship team as superstars James Robinson (STARMAN, SUPERMAN) and Mark Bagley (TRINITY, Ultimate Spider-Man) take over! A one-time member of the JLA falls before he can warn the team of looming peril while what’s left of the JLA journeys to the heart of their past to decide if the team has any future at all. Of course, that means this is the best time for a savage silly villain from the team’s past to attack the demoralized heroes!
by the way whatever happened with Despero, Per Degaton and the Ultra-Humanite running around in the future screwing with things? I remember a showdown in Booster Gold, but I didn’t think it really resolved what they were up to or where they went after.
Here is a collection of some of Falcon’s hottest leather scenes… viewable at Falcon Video on Demand! These boys know how to fill out a pair of assless pants! I can highly recommend Sting: A Taste for Leather, the Abduction series and The Chosen as 2 of the best leather orgies ever captured on film.

Kat (Jaime Ray Newman) the fiery redhead mother of 5 subjugated by her layabout husband who is unemployed and can’t take just any job because he “used to be in charge of wicks” at the local candle factory. Joanna Frankel (Lindsay Price) is the beautiful yet shy and awkward raven-haired newspaper reporter unaware of her own hypnotic power over men. Roxie (Rebecca Romijn) is the independent bohemian blond sculptress with a teenage daughter, her own shop and precognitive dreams. Together they are the NEW witches of Eastwick. The cast also includes Matt Dallas as Roxie’s much younger mancandy boy toy and Paul Gross as Darryl van Horne
It seems Darryl van Horne has been to town before and he’s supposed to be dead. If that’s true, then what happened to Suki, Jane, Alex and the kids? Are they still in town? How long ago did Darryl “die” – was it 1987? If so maybe he’s back for them too? I’m really not sure if this is a follow up to the movie or a retelling. Also included in the cast as is original castmember from the 1987 film Veronica Cartright as “Bun Waverly” not Felicia Alden – her original character.
This is actually the third television adaptation of John Updike’s The Witches of Eastwick. Two unsold pilots with the same characters as the original (Suki, Jane and Alex) have been made. The first in 1992, starring Julia Campbell as Jane Hollis, Catherine Mary Stewart as Sukie Ridgemont, Ally Walker as Alexandra Spofford, Michael Siberry as Darryl Van Horne, and Jan Rubes as Fidel (Carel Struycken’s character in the film)and the second in 2002,starring Marcia Cross as Jane Spofford, Kelly Rutherford as Alexandra Medford, Lori Loughlin as Sukie Ridgemont, and Jason O’Mara as Darryl Van Horne.
When I look at this first EXCLUSIVE image from Michael Kirwan of KirwanArts.com titled Too Late the Knight, I can’t help but wonder if this is what really happened to Jason Todd before Joker killed him? I have to say I prefer his Batman/Robin pairing – it’s much less disturbing… but what heroes and villains would YOU like to see him bring his special touch to? If this first image is actually about Jason Todd, it could be the first in a series of memorable comic book battles that ended in tragic deaths (that were later undone)…
Awhile back Michael Kirwan sent us exclusive scans of some recent commissions he completed commemorating the release of a number of DC heroes on United States stamps. The first two were Green Lantern and Plastic Man and now he has sent us Hawkman and Aquaman to fill out the set.
And that’s not all. He also sent these dirty shots of the Galactor Troops and the following explanatory text for those of us who aren’t as enlightened as the fella who commissioned these…
Recently an enlightened art collector commissioned a few scenes illustrating the Henchmen from Gatchaman (G-Force Guardians of Space). These Galactor Troops were always getting graphically punished and humiliated by the heroes of G-Force. From shots to the crotch, uniforms ripped from stem to privates, and all manner of abuses were heaped upon these loyal Henchmen as they foot-soldiered their way into battle and the eventual comic defeat of the villainous group Galactor.
- Michael Kirwan
Some great stuff! He does commissions, I don’t know what he charges, but I may have to find out…
I’ve established that I do possess the gay “I love musicals” gene. So I felt obligated to mention this number which has been making the rounds.
I’m enjoying GLEE. It’s a High School Musical mutation with teeth and a VERY dark sense of humor. The cast of characters is a an entertaining and compelling cross section of peculiar students and neurotic teachers, the performers are quite good and the musical numbers have really well executed and fun to watch. I’m looking forward to the rest of the season. If you want to catch up, you can buy the .5 Season DVD (GLEE: The Road to Sectionals) from My Amazon store…
THIS WEEKS SHOW IS A WONDERFUL EPISODE!!!!!! The best by far of a really good new series. I cried when Kurt’s Dad screams THAT’S MY BOY!!! In fact makes me a bit verklempt just thinking about it. From Kurt’s fear I was expecting his pops to be different – The scene at home after the game was just beautiful – and teared me up again. I’m usually pretty Spock-like when it comes to things pulling on my emotional heartstrings – but moments like these get me every time. If you aren’t watching this show – START or I’ll have your gay card revoked. Seriously!
I loves me some NPH, and he does not disappoint as the melodically mind controlling Music Meister! OK I’m a proven sucker for musical episodes (I LOVED the Buffy TVS episode Once More With Feeling and the Scrubs musical and am eagerly anticipating the musical episode of Eureka next season). And I’m a HUGE comic book geek so I really couldn’t be more the target audience for a musical episode of The Brave and the Bold. Guest Starring Black Canary, Aquaman and Green Arrow.
Neil Patrick Harris sounds amazing as ever (check him out in Prop 8 the Musical)
As I regale you with my story you know you’ll have no choice but to do my evil bidding when you hear this booming voice!”
– Music Meister (Neil Patrick Harris)
and these are audio only – but they have the songs…
It certainly looks like Diana is in a foul mood after being dumped by Tom Tresser (a.k.a. Nemesis). Too bad for Giganta she happened to be in Wondy’s way.
In this chapter of writer Gail Simone and artist Aaron Lopresti’s “Rise of the Olympian” saga, Diana finds herself fighting for her life against the man chosen by the gods to replace her — Achilles, the Warkiller.
A few MAJOR flaws – 1. where is their super-speedster? With Jay, Wally, Barry, and Bart (maybe even Max who knows what Rebirth will bring) all running around at top speed, how can the JLA be without a Flash? 2. They need a magic expert – with the logic that Robinson is using to draw together this team we should see Timothy Hunter within 5 issues – actually that would be AWESOME!
As someone who came of age with the original New Teen Titans, it IS nice to see some of the former teen side-kicks move up to the major leagues, but I don’t know if you can just replace the DC trinity that easily. OK Superman is off on New Krypton, Bruce Wayne is “dead” so where is Diana? Is she fated to die in the Blackest Night? DCD is making a version of her in their Blackest Night series. What does that mean for her future? Only time will tell.
With this JLA line-up, what happens to the Titans? Without Donna, Kory, Dick and Vic there is just Raven, Gar, Roy and Wally and I don’t see that as a title worth watching (not that Titans is worth it now – but the characters have so much potential – as shown by the Titans: Blackest Night mini).
Also – where is Vixen? She was the only one who seemed REALLY dedicated to keeping the team going even after Black Canary took her ball and went home.
FLUX: Can you feel the stream of sensuality? In Flux, the fluid sex flows like a force of nature in this fusion of art and eroticism from the mind of award-winning director Brian Mills. Join nine masculine models—led by TitanMen exclusives Marco Blaze and Rick van Sant—on a hypnotic journey that will seduce your senses. Fucking has never been hotter, so catch the wave and get wet!
CAST: Andreas Cavalli, Charly Diaz, Drake Jaden, Marco Blaze, Revel Milan, Rick van Sant, Slade, Tyler Saint and Xavier St. Jude.
And again I see LGBT inclusion on Primetime from ABC. It really seems like someone at Disney loves us gays. Just don’t tell the bible bangers.
UPDATE: I like the pilot. Definitely funny I think the gay couple was portrayed well no more neurotic than any of the other characters. Worth checking out… The show premiered Wednesday, Sept 23rd at 9/8c.
I don’t know about this group of bads… their names are dumb… Lobe and Thug? and a naked French assassin who is invisible in directly sunlight names Verre (French for glass). Is that the best you can do? Really?
THE STORY: …CLASSIFIED… The effects of UTOPIA are felt here! One of the original X-Men makes his exit!
As for who leaves… I’m guessing Beast isn’t pleased with the all the secrets and lies that have been a matter of course for awhile now.
Next Issue: MAGNETO! At least it looks like it from the cover, but you never know (they never did satisfactorily explain the who the Magneto was that menaced New York while huffing MGH and killed Phoenix before Wolvie decapitated him).
