After the Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men crossover comes to a head in Dark Avengers/Uncanny X-Men: Exodus, According to Chris Yost, Emma Frost will put all her cards on the table and tell Cyclops about her part in Norman Osborn’s Dark Reign cabal in Dark X-Men: The Confession.

I think Scott’s secret team of killer X-Men (X-Force) will also come out in the wash. I don’t know how anyone expected him to keep a lid on that.

The climactic conclusion to the crossover event of 2009 is here! This is it, the final battle for the Dark Avengers and the X-Men that will change the status quo for the Marvel Universe.

Emma Frost’s betrayal comes home to roost. Cyclops’ plan clicks into place, but is it too late? What can the X-Men do against the Sentry and Ares?

Part of me still thinks Scott knew the whole time. If she didn’t tell him, I’m sure she had a good reason. Well not THAT sure – she WAS a first class villain, but I think she likes things on the sunny side so I don’t think she was REALLY out for herself – more likely she saw Norman abusing his newfound authority to form dangerous alliances and felt that mutants NEEDED to be represented. She knew no one from Scott’s camp was capable of seating at THAT table so she took her rightful position. I don’t believe for 1 second she was EVER on Norman’s side, and neither will Scott – at least IMHO.

Definitely agree. They'll probably play it out as 'Is she? Isn't she?' for an issue or two. But for a tactical genius like Cyclops to not see why Emma would sign up like she did would just be poor writing, IMO.

…and okay, Archangel versus Bullseye is an awesomely fun fight in the making.

I concur. It makes perfect strategic sense for Emma to appease Norman and act as a liaison and more importantly get as much info on Norman's shenanigans as possible. (Surely she's been reading his mind at every opportunity?) If Scott can't see that then he'll not be in character. She has every right, on the other hand, to be pretty miffed about X-Force.

  3. Here's hoping. Emma's Face Turn has been one of the best in comics. Her move from villain to hero took time, it wasn't pretty, it wasn't easy, and she's earned her title as X-Man several times over. TO have her switch back to evil after all that she's been through…it would be really crappy storytelling…of course, with the EiC that Marvel has right now, if he thinks it'll make money, who cares about continuity…

  4. No need to worry about Emma making a heel turn really. All signs point to her and Cyclops being in this together from the start of Utopia.

I do think that Scott has nothing to be upset about. Emma realized the lay of the land and saw an opportunity to help mutants. Now she may have been in on thi swith Scott from the start – we'll see… But if she REALLY didn't tell him… possible reasons:

    1. She suspects/knows she is not the only telepath on Osborn's payroll

    2. She suspects/knows Scott is keeping secrets and decided to keep a few of her own

    3. She think the "rift" that the secret coming out will cause will help her get in further with Norman – to help sell her "defection" as part of a master plan

    4. She's still completely evil/amoral and is just looking for power like the White Queen of old.
