I’ve been following and enjoying the War of Kings – BUT skipping the Darkhawk tie-ins – I just can’t take that character seriously on a cosmic level after Loners. Can anyone fill me in on exactly WHY Christopher Powell is relevant on a cosmic scale? And yes I read the wiki – still don’t see the point (other than selling me another book I don’t want to read).

The Shi’Ar/Inhuman war reaches its most savage level yet! Emperor Vulcan goes for the kill strike, but does he have more enemies on the field of battle…or at home? Meanwhile, Black Bolt discovers that the Inhumans are not quite the happy family he thought they were!

It’s explosive action and universe-changing twists from the DnA/Pelletier War Of Kings team that IGN.com calls “a versatile dream for science fiction and fantasy fans…event comics done right!”

OK that may be a bit overly hyped, but what’s not to like? This is a cool action packed cosmic battle with beloved characters on both sides (I always like the Imperial Guard) and beautifully illustrated by one of the best artists in the biz (and Paul Pelletier has been a favorite since Superboy and the Ravers) as well.

  1. It is really disappointing that Rachel Summers is really not doing anything during this whole storyline…..she is an Alpha mutant with strong telekinesis and telepathy…..all she does is stand around…….very disappointing…

I really wish Vulcan would die…..most annoying villain EVER!

Well she DID make Gladiator think that Rocket Raccoon had a weapon that could hurt him.

Rachel suffered a loss of the Phoenix Force during an attempt to free Havok – I don’t think she has her alpha level abilities at the moment. Makes sense – fully powered, she could probably take down Vulcan and his forces single-handedly.

  3. She is still a powerful telekinetic and telepath even without the Phoenix…..not too thrilled about the Houndmarks coming back either ….just feels like a step back for her.

I would rather have her in X-Force using her telepathy to track people. She has always had an “edge” to her so I think she would be great in the book and I would like to see more Ray-Nathan interaction.
