I like this because it isn’t the whole usual gay comic story of the only two gay characters in a book meet, immediately fall in love and are monogamous forever without ever looking at another person. While I like the Wiccan/Hulkling relationship, it is a little pollyannaish. Peter David really knows how to capture human interactions.

I’m having a hard time getting hyped-up for this. I mean if they’re supposed to be a covert team (as the ‘Secret’ title implies) are Beast (a giant cat… thing), Valkyrie (a medieval style axe-wielding super model) and Nova (a glowy rocket guy) really the best low profile choices?
