If you blog, PLEASE repost the phone numbers below!!!!!
The ever vigilant homophobic hate mongering American Family Association had already announced a boycott of Pepsi for its support of LGBT causes but the recent UK airing of this commercial has them stepping it up a notch. REALLY? Are we THAT threatening? Is it THAT horrible if occasionally we get to see ourselves included if not fully represented in a television commercial? REALLY?!!
The AFA was kind enough to provide a number for Pepsi Customer Relations in order for outraged bible-bangers to call and lodge their bigoted “christian” judgment. But I used it to call and lodge my support AGAINST the AFA boycott and to thank them and ask them to keep up the good work. The customer relations person was SOOOO glad to hear from me. Please call and do the same and then tell a friend and have them tell 2 friends – and so on, and so on.
PLEASE CALL PEPSI TO THANK THEM FOR THEIR SUPPORT: 1-800-433-2652
YOU CAN ALSO CALL AND THANK PEPSI SUBSIDIARIES… (AFA targeted them for harassing phone calls too so give em a break and call to say thanks)
the AFA’s letter to Pepsi and Pepsi’s response… (I believe this is before the ad aired)
AFA Letter to PepsiCo Chairman Indra K. Nooyi from Donald E. Wildmon (October 14, 2008):
Recently we noticed that PepsiCo gave a $500,000 donation to Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. We were indeed surprised by PepsiCo’s support of the homosexual group. It would appear to us that PepsiCo would not involve itself in a political and culture war, especially supporting an organization seeking to redefine marriage and family.
We ask PepsiCo to remain neutral in this culture war, neither supporting nor opposing the homosexual agenda.
We would like to discuss this matter with PepsiCo. Would you have a representative of PepsiCo contact us?
Response from Paul Boykas, director, public policy to Donald E. Wildmon (November 18, 2008):
I’m responding to your letter to our Chairman. In 2008, the PepsiCo Foundation awarded a grant to Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays to support a national program specifically designed for workplace environments.
The initiative seeks to promote further understanding and equality in the places where people spend much of their time at work.
Among the values promoted by the PepsiCo Foundation is ensuring a work environment that is respectful and where associates are valued for their contributions. I hope this helps clarify this grant by the PepsiCo Foundation.
This week sees the much anticipated last issue of both Final Crisis and Final Crisis: Revelations – wrapping up the DCU’s latest epic miniseries.
The dramatic finale to the epic, seven-part saga of the DC multiverse concludes with an apocalyptic battle for the soul of humanity that must be seen to be believed! Can the heroes of 52 Earths save the multiverse? And is the only way to save it, to change it forever?
OK, isn’t that ALWAYS the only way to save it? If previous Crises are any judge then it is. And forever is only until the next creative team pitches something that gets the management excited. But until then who knows what the outcome of Final Crisis will be… DC’s never been QUITE as world altering in their events.
Looking back, it seems, their Crisis change the past more than the present. Unlike Marvel’s Civil War, Secret Invasion and now Dark Reign, the events of the DCU seem to be more about altering past continuity and have offered very little in lasting change to the day to day operations of the DCU (aside from a token significant death).
So we’ve have our heroic significant death and it’s time to rally and save reality by making some completely random alterations to the history of the DCU. Rah. Rah. I can’t wait. I just don’t see them leaving the DCU dark for any real length of time and future solicits don’t seem like a world imbued with evil, so I think the white hats are going to win.
I’ve enjoyed Final Crisis, but don’t really know if I see it as a worthy successor to the original Crisis on Infinite Earths or even the subsequent Infinite Crisis. The thought I seem to have as I read each issue is – did I miss some pages? I keep hoping that there will be a special edition hardcover with all the missing pages magically reinserted.
I’m not sure if I just have a problem with Grant Morrison’s writing – (Batman R.I.
Falcon Studios has release a preview of the 3way from their upcoming February 17 release – Asylum. New Falcon exclusive Ty Colt started out on the Falcon Str8 Men website but has graduated to the big time…
Lets hope Smallville does fishnets better the second time around (their Black Canary casting and costume were let’s say not good). If you like the women of the DCU, then the guest star of an episode titled “Hex” is an obvious choice. My personal favorite backwards talking sorceress… ZATANNA!!!! But Cheer up it looks like their casting director has regained his or her sight. Actress/model Serinda Swan (seen below alongside Adam Hugh’s version of Zatanna) has been cast to play the daring daughter of Zatara.
For those who don’t think Zee is that big a DC property, remember Zatanna is arguably the most powerful member of the JLA, on a par with Marvel’s Scarlet Witch. In addition to her comics appearances, she’s been seen in numerous Batman cartoons. She can alter reality with a spoken word. If only she had taken that Silent Spell metamagic feat – she’d be unstoppable.
From the looks of her website’s gallery – I’m sure Serinda is up to looking the part. The costuming interpretations of the Legion costumes were spot on so I hope wardrobe can cook up a sufficiently sexy yet sophisticated version of Zatanna’s classic garb.
Along with choices from 2008’s Movies, Television, Journalism, Theater and Literature, 5 Comic Book Titles (from DC Comics, Dark Horse and Marvel) have been nominated for the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s 20th annual Media Awards honoring 2008’s media representations of the LGBT community in 26 English-language and 15 Spanish-language categories.
Nominees in the comic-book category are seen below…
The awards will be presented at a series of dinners: March 28 at the Marriott Marquis in New York, April 18 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and May 9 at the Hilton San Francisco.
It is not specified when the winning comic will be chosen.
I feel that seriously GLAAD dropped the ball a bit here. DC’s much underrated Manhunter is a much better representation of gays in comics than Buffy, Final Crisis Revelations or Secret Six. Don’t get me wrong I love all those comics but mere inclusion isn’t enough.
Although Buffy Season 8 has Willow as a lesbian and Buffy herself had a little lesbian fling, homosexuality in Buffy TVS has always been a touch on the “lesbians are titillating” side. Tossed in for the fanboys who like that sort of thing.
Final Crisis: Revelations had 2 lesbians IN it but didn’t really have anything to do with them being gay or reference their relationship in any REAL way.
And Secret Six shows Scandal mourning her dead lover – Knockout. Only real gay moment in the new ongoing was the stripper in a cake that the guys got for Scandal in a severly misguided attempt to cheer her up. And as she mourns, we have to see Bane hitting on her with his creepy doting.
I haven’t read The Alcoholic so I cannot speak to its representation. Young Avengers Presents is the only title listed that I feel does a reasonably good job of representing. But even though they identify as “boyfriends” we still don’t see the same kind of treatment straight relationships get. No I love yous and definitely no kiss.
Now the now canceled (1 issue left) Manhunter’s inclusion of “Uncle Todd” (Obsidian) and his boyfriend in its supporting cast not only shows a loving gay relationship as a normal and regular part of everyday life but also shows strong family values with their relationship with Manhunter’s son and eventual adoption of the new “Jade”. She was introduced in he title’s final arc, which also revealed 2 new future gay members of the DC legacy heroes… Manhunter’s semi-invulnerable son Ramsey and his size-changing boyfriend (parents unknown at this time) through a story set some years in the future.
Now take that travesty and add Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin) as a symbolic combination of Iron Man and Captain America. Cap is spinning in his grave. But it doesn’t surprise me – give a insane supergenius access to Iron Man’s collection of armor and he’s bound to put one on.
I don’t know where this is going. Knowing Normie I’m sure he has some master plan and we can only wait for it to blow up in his face. Hopefully due to the intervention of Carol Danvers – the REAL Ms Marvel. Who is apparently Doomed!!!
In an interview with Newsarama, Ms. Marvel writer Brian Reed revealed that Carol Danvers is to die in the Ms Marvel Dark Reign story arc from 35-38. By issue 38 Carol will be dead and Moonstone will be Ms Marvel in her own title too.
For all of her longevity, Ms. Marvel has long been a sort of second- or even third-tier character, despite lots of history and interaction with many Marvel greats. And once she’s dead, Marvel intends to replace her with a young upstart.
This saddens me. I have always been a fan of Carol Danvers. When reading back issues from the ORIGINAL George Perez Avengers days waaay back in the day, I was annoyed about how they shuffled her off with her son/lover/rapist and was really psyched to see her first back as Warbird and then overjoyed to see her glimpse her true potential during House of M and attempt to achieve it afterward. I can only hope that her “death” is actually part of some brilliant plan she has to take down Norman and when his house of cards comes tumbling down she will emerge from the shadows to laugh her ass off.

Congrats to Benjamin Jacob Grimm the blue eyed ever-loving Thing and some girl named Debbie whom he proposed to in the last issue of Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch’s big screen FF. What do we know about her? She’s not on his wiki page – someone want to update that for me? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Frye? Frye?

Unit-911, is an English stud named Alfh who claims to be the “first adult musclebear musical group which reinforces masculinity and power.” I suppose the pastel and attempted boy band glam of Bearforce1 would disqualify them for consideration. But they’re still singing bears so lets lump em all together.
I’m continuing my series of homages to porn stars of yesterday with this gallery of images of popular 90’s pornstars and real life brothers Hal, Vince and Shane Rockland… ENJOY! But before you ask, NO they didn’t do each other. Sheesh. Perv.
Middle brother Vince Rockland was born in Darmstadt Germany December 29, 1973. Vince was the first to test the waters of the gay porn industry. In 1998, Vince won Best Actor from the GayVN Awards and Gay Erotic Video Awards for Three Brothers; additionally, he and his brothers (together with scene partner Derek Cameron) shared "Best Group Scene" and "Best Oral Scene" Gay Erotic Video Awards for the same film.
5ft 9inch tall Vince sports an 8-inch uncut cock, brown hair and green eyes. Vince was versatile on film and unlike brothers Shane and Hal who claim to be strictly heterosexual in their real life, Vince is an admitted bisexual. In the Spring of 2002, he was in a serious motorcycle accident while traveling in India. He suffered a near-fatal head injury and had to return to the U.S. to recuperate. These days he’s a musician and allegedly an escort in Vegas.
When asked about his brothers return to religion, Vince said…
“We grew up in a very religious family. [Brothers Shane and Hal] are just going back to something they grew up with. When you grow up in a philosophy of fear, the kind of philosophy that Christianity is, it’s easy to go back to that. You start to have these visions of yourself in Hell, or whatever it might be.”
Youngest brother Hal was also born in Germany (February 11, 1975) and was the first to follow in the wet spots of elder brother Vince. A dedicated bodybuilder, Hal performed as a top and also has an 8-inch uncut cock. The 1994 Gay Video Guide Award Best Newcomer married and started a family after retiring from the business and rediscovering religion.
After fellow gay porn superstar Ken Ryker confessed to Hal that he was having “a spiritual awakening” and feeling guilt about his past, Hal walked out on his last video, Three Brothers (1998). Although Ryker maintains he didn’t know Hal was undergoing the same re-examination of his life and was not responsible for his departure, the video’s director, Gino Colbert, claims Ryker told him that Hal and Vince “had found Jesus and wouldn’t be returning to the set.”
Accoring to brother Vince, Hal started his own concrete company in Colorado Springs around 2000 and has been doing extremely well, working on projects such as concrete replica of coral reefs for a large hotel in Dubai, and concrete art work in the Bahamas.
Ex-Marine Shane, the eldest of the 3 (born in Germany December 23, 1972), was the last of the 3 to take a dip in the porn pool, but finally joined his 2 brothers in the gay porn industry. Supposedly he was straight and famously had the largest cock of the 3 brothers.
The three siblings were born in Germany to Christian missionary parents, raised in Florida, Chile and Costa Rica and made numerous adult films in the 90s before retirement helped of out of 3 of them to "find religion." All three appeared together gangbanging Derek Cameron in their final gay porn film, Three Brothers.
Youngest brother Hal Rockland’s COMPLETE FILMOGRAPHY!
It’s been WAAAAAY to long without a new Heroes episode (though Geoff John’s Legion of Super Heroes come to Smallville Episode was a great comic book TV, I’m still aching for my Heroes). At least NBC has given us another set of Heroes Webisodes to watch in the meantime. For you viewing pleasure…
The entire five-part epic of super-solider Rachel Mills, who survived the explosion of Pinehurst only to find a new more personal threat.
Coming February 2nd… Heroes Volume 4 – Fugitives
And here is a peek behind the veil of what’s in store for the newest episodes of Heroes: Volume 4 Fugitives.
But as happy as I am to see Wanda out of Limbo (just an expression – not suggesting she was with Ilyanna) all the magical chaos seems a bit forced. It’s an obvious stacking of events to create a magical evil big enough to necessitate Wanda’s reappearance.
I originally created this as a welcome for our historical new president on election day, but I think it is equally appropriate today on his inauguration.
President Obama has the eyes of the world on him today and due to his previous crowd-pleasing addresses and the current perilous economic climate have many seem to have their emotional well-being riding on whether it is the speech is inspirational enough (many are hoping for something to eclipse the I have a dream speech). Obama’s speech was co-written by Jon Favreau (no not the one who was in Swingers and directed Iron Man).
Jon Favreau, 27, is, as Obama himself puts it, the president’s mind reader. He is the youngest chief speechwriter on record in the White House, and, despite such youth, was at the centre of discussions of the content of today’s speech, one which has so much riding on it.
Also have fun with the atom’s online inauguration speech generator and see if you can do better tha Jon Favreau! See my efforts under the video. I will be amending and bumping this post as President Obama’s week long inauguration party continues!
Openly gay Episcopal Bishop, Gene Robinson gives the invocation at the “We Are One” concert, which kicked off the inaugural ceremonies.
My fellow Americans, today is an historic day. You have shown the world that “hope” is not just another word for “insanity”, and that “change” is not only something we can believe in again, but something we can actually achieve.
Today we celebrate, but let there be no mistake – America faces dark and creepy challenges like never before. Our economy is wild. Americans can barely afford their mortgages, let alone have enough money left over for a yacht. Our healthcare system is dead. If your foot is sick and you don’t have insurance, you might as well call a manicurist. And America’s image overseas is tarnished like a antique toilet. But working together we can right this ship, and set a course for Hell and back.
Finally, I must thank my patient family, my rabid campaign volunteers, but most of all, I want to thank the homosexuals for making this historic occasion possible. Of course, I must also thank you, President Bush, for years of screwing the American people. Without your evil efforts, none of this would have been possible.
I saw the first one at WickedGayBlog and it spawned a youtube search revealing the rest. For your amusement… the peculiar commercials of Durex Condoms.
Director Steve Cruz has updated his personal blog with a bunch more stills, promotional shots and behind the scenes photos from Red Light, the second installment in the color box series that he conceived and directed for Mustang with his partner in crime Leif Gobo. It looks like he is having as much fun behind the camera as he seems to in front of it.
They pick up where we left off with Blue Movie… exploring the other side of the sex trade— male escorts. Each scene involves a fantasy peek into the life.
Steve also includes interviews with Diesel Washington, Leo Giamani, Jake Dakota and Josh West in his 2 part posting about behind the scenes at Red Light. So be sure to read his blog to read these four talking to Steve Cruz about everything from love and being discovered to racism and escorting.

I’m hoping that Paul Pellatier will be back next issue. Star Wars penciller notwithstanding I’m not loving the artwork this issue.
Star-Lord…trapped in jail…in the Negative Zone Prison…under attack from King Blastaar and his barbarian hordes! Will Rocket Raccoon and his new Guardians arrive in time to save their leader? Given their recent run of luck, probably not! Plus, cool art by Star Wars penciler Bong Dazo staggering revelations about Adam Warlock – as events continue to build to WAR OF KINGS! Surely you must be there for the next chapter of the series that has WeeklyComicBookReview.com raving: “If you aren’t reading GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY yet, now is the time to get a taste of the awesome that is Rocket Raccoon and the gang.”
After an unrealistically chaste seven month courtship Luke and Noah finally did it (as in anal) and they so followed their unbelievable wait with some just as unbelievable behavior. See what FeyFriends had to say about the episode…
Below please find feyfriends‘ list of the Top Seven Things No Gay Man Would Ever Do That Luke and Noah Did On Yesterday’s As The World Turns.
7) Have their grandmother plead their case with their erstwhile S.O.
6) “You’re selfish with your feelings!”
5) “You can’t let someone love you and love them back. Why not? Why can’t you just go with your feelings and just do it, just feel what you’re feeling and let go!”
4) Respond to the above with a passionate kiss instead of a blank expression and a murmured “Yeah, I should probably be getting along.”
3) Triple-kiss each other’s hands.
2) Invite grandma to join their post-fuck ice cream pig-out.
1) “You know, I’m really glad we waited.”
For the record I found the episode adorable…ADORABLY UNREALISTIC!
Everyone’s favorite skunk haired power absorber is back and she’s seeing things. Rogue returns! Glad to know they haven’t forgotten about Anna Marie and Remy. I wonder where they’ll go from where they left things.
It’s the moment that X-Fans have been waiting for — Rogue makes her return to the X-Books. But while Xavier seeks out Rogue, who is searching for him? Hunter becomes hunted and friend becomes foe, in a story that will change your favorite Southern Belle forever. Part 1 (of 5)
