Today we have a dual milestone. In addition to being New Year’s Eve 2008. This very post marks the milestone of 1000 articles on this blog since its inception in April of this year! May there be another thousand for 2009! See you next year boys!!! Have fun tonight – I’m out on the town. Drive safe and drink responsibly. If you can’t handle that take a cab, bum a ride or just walk dammit! Happy New Year!
I thought I’d dig up some of the most thought and/or boner provoking posts from HeroesNHunks first year… Enjoy! I’ll probably add more tomorrow. If I left off a 2008 HeroesNHunks post you enjoyed – PLEASE comment with a link and I’ll add it to the list!
TitenMen’s latest fuckjfest, Overdrive is basically a series of hot men having sex in, on and around cars. Not too much thought on the plot, but then again that’s not why we watch. If you don’t know why we watch you’re on the wrong site.
Watching Dirk Jager suck Marco Blaze is too much for François Sagat to handle, so he brings his own hose into the action. After some oral and piss fun leaves Marco drenched, he flip fucks with François.

Time for a membership drive! Any guesses on who the new Teen Titans will be? I recognize some of the heroes on the cover (Supergirl, Spoiler, Bombshell, Speedy and Misfit) but not all (not sure who the flying girl with the staff and guy with the helmet are… but the guy with the cat is Klarion the Witch Boy after a really awkward growth spurt. When is Kid Eternity showing up?
Teen guest stars galore! With only four members left, it’s time for the Teen Titans to hold a recruitment drive! Who will make the cut, and who will be sent packing? Who will refuse to even show up, and who will bring a boatload of trouble with them?
The arc beginning in this month’’s Manhunter #37 takes place “some years later…” My guess is about 12 years later. Kate Spencer‘’s young (7-8 year old) son Ramsey who was recently discovered to have some degree of invulnerability is suddenly all grown up with a boyfriend named Justin (who can grow like Elasti-Girl or Giganta) is also referred to as a “legacy” hero – implying a connection to a current DCU character (perhaps one of the ladies I listed – from what Justin says about his Mom, I guess Giganta… any other suggestions?).
The timeline is just a guess but I”d guess we have at least another 12 comic book years before the young couple pops up in the Teen Titans. SUMMARY: a story set 12 years in the future outed a character who is about 7-8 years old in current continuity.
I have to say I am really encouraged by the many new and old characters past, present and future that have been revealed to be LGBT. Now if we could just get a few officially gay Legionaries (that title was one of the first to even HINT at a character being gay – but subsequent rewritings of continuity have removed those story elements – I would be overjoyed if whatever comes out of Legion of 3 Worlds could address that.
Here are some pages from Manhunter #37 showing a very comfortable, supportive and loving super family dynamic between Manhunter, her lawyer boytoy, her gay son, his boyfriend Justin, gay Uncle Todd (Obsidian) and cousin Jen (Jade).
This title should get awards for its portrayal of gay relationships in comics. Before this issue there have been a number of small affectionate scenes with Obsidian and his boyfriend. I”ve never seen gay relationships presented in such a wonderful matter-of-fact no big deal way. If only Marvel could do that with Wiccan and Hulkling. If you haven”t been reading Manhunter – You missed out. The next issue #38 is to be its last. Buy the back issues or trade paperbacks! It REALLY is a great series.
Happy New Year’s Eve to you all!!! I hope everyone has fun plans and someone to kiss at midnight. If not, you’ve got less than 12 hours to pick somebody up. Depending on where you live, that may be possible. Here’s a little present for the new year – the old year in a nutshell…
It must be December – snow is falling, children are writing letters to Santa and we’re dragging 2008 through the mud in our all-singing, all-dancing, all-out year-in-review. “New Krypton” part 9! Violence breaks out on Earth as the Kryptonians, enraged by humanity’s treatment of them and their newly passed anti-Kryptonian laws, strike back! Imagine 100,000 people, each with the powers of Superman but lacking his humanity – and they’re angry!
If squeaky clean Disney’s best artists drew dirty gay porn it would look something like the beautiful images that Amy Colburn came up with to illustrate Dale Lazarov’s classic porn archetypes in Manly. There is something inescapably sexy about this combination of style and subject matter.
Amy Colburn, an up-and-coming illustrator of hot male-on-male art, joins Dale Lazarov, writer/editor of STICKY (Bruno Gmüender Verlag, March 2006) to bring you manly stories about manly men doing manly things to each other.
The book is billed as “gay erotic comics full of kink and tenderness between masculine men” and contains 3 short vignettes. Manly’s compelling albeit short stories and equally enticing imagery are a welcome addition to the short (but ever-growing) list of quality illustrated pornographic gay comics that outshine some of their more mediocre contemporaries.
In “Busted”, a hot rest stop bubba helpsa tough guy Federal agent stop an escaping crystal meth chef. They both get medals — and then bust each other… In “Clinch”, a young Latino and a mature Irish boxer figure out how to get each other off when they can’t find condoms in the gym… And a Mideastern hunk finds out how to get the attention of an intimidating muscleman he always sees at a leather/levis dive in “Hot Librarian”.
Dale Lazarov is best known as the writer/editor of STICKY, a collaboration with illustrator Steve MacIsaac published by Gmuender. Best-selling author Clive Barker described STICKY as “Sexy, stylish, minimalist…an intense mixture of erotic realism and the freedom of comics storytelling makes STICKY a pleasure to have in one hand.”
Dale’s also the writer/editor of FANCY, a gay erotic webcomic drawn by Delic Van Loond and published weekly at AdultWebcomics.com. Dale’s busy collaborating with illustrators on other books of gay erotic comics: Bastian Jonsson on NIGHTLIFE, Foxy Andy on CHUMS, and Mioki on POWER POP BOYS. Dale currently lives and works in Chicago.
Amy Colburn makes her book publishing debut with MANLY after years producing beautiful homoerotic illustrations for a variety of venues. She lives in Virginia.
Also be sure to see what fave blogger the GayComicGeek had to say about Manly…
I find that significant shipping delays really cut into the the necessary story momentum required when reading a monthly comic. It’s been months since Kick Ass #4 came out and that was months late too. Its an interesting idea (kid without powers putting on a suit to fight crime in our world), but unless they start shipping it more regularly, I’ll wait for the trade that will inevitably come out either when the movie does or before.
The story kicks into a higher gear with the introduction of the Red Mist.
Since he put on the green wetsuit and became Kick-Ass, Dave Lizewski has broken both legs, shattered his back; been run over by a Mercedes, smashed by garbage cans, and clobbered by gangsters; become a YouTube phenomenon and inspired a wave of costumed vigilantes…but none of that can compare to what’s going to happen now that John Genovese knows who he is.
I know a bunch of fellow gay geeks who are sort of up in arms about this title because of the “unnecessary” use of anti-gay slurs for no story driven reason. I completely agree with them that use of anti-gay slurs for trash talking name calling is grossly irresponsible for a comic that is sure to resonate with young readers.
I did send the author Mark Millar a comment on his forum telling him so. If you’d like to do the same it may have more impact on him than boycotting the title.
Here are some shots that have been released from the upcoming Kick-Ass movie. Odd that we actually saw this photo of Christopher Mintz-Plasse, a.k.a. McLovin as Red Mist before we really saw the character in print.
