If you were worried that the JLI series 1Ice you are about to buy was going to go without Fire, worry no more! Plus J’onn J’onz, Blue Beetle and a goofy smiling thumbs up Booster Gold. I knew I’d want Fire, but I didn’t think they could make a Beetle, Booster or Martian Manhunter to replace the ones in my display – but I actually want all 4 of this line).
I couldn’t find a DDay linked up with that identifier. Giving up…

Iraqi journalist Muntadhar al-Zaidi expressed his rage at President Bush during a press conference in Bahgdad on Sunday (December 14, 2008). After Bush said the war in Iraq was on the way to being won, al-Zaidi threw his shoes at Bush’s head and said “this is for the widows and orphans and all those killed in Iraq.”
Bush was able to draw upon the muscle memory most likely formed his senior year when he was head cheerleader at Andover and duck as if the shoes were the usual mere rotten fruit. They might have hurt. Now if it had been a pie, I’d have been rooting for full contact. Bush must have had a lot of practice with people throwing things at him over the past 8 years in order to have duck and cover reflexes that honed.
Unsurprisingly, the cultural significance of having a shoe thrown at his face was lost upon Bush. Let’s hope Muntadhar al-Zaidi isn’t martyred for his political comment.
The official trailer to X-Men Origins: Wolverine debuted online today at 10am (it was seen first in theaters on Friday in front of The Day The Earth Stood Still). But just in case you didn’t rush out to see that on opening weekend…Here you go!
Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar – as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine’s epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.
