I have no idea what is next in this title. And for someone with my gift for predicting entertainment (no mystery really – I just read about the heroic journey) that is impressive. Few titles REALLY keep me guessing. I can generally figure out a few twists for upcoming Boy’s issues, but I’ve given up the precognition and just want to enjoy the ride.
Hughie – or perhaps that should be “Bagpipe”- meets the original G-Men, and their mysterious benefactor John Godolkin. Secrets of the G-Mansion abound, including one that leaves our hero breathless. Frenchie and the Female begin surveillance as MM works the clues, and Butcher pursues answers from another source entirely. And in the background, unseen by either Boys or G-Men, shadowy forces prepare to make a move of their own… “We Gotta Go Now”, part three!
Its gotten rave reviews all over and loads of publicity (I found write ups in every gay rag I checked – but as a small gay themed musical – I figure it can use all the good press it can get. LOVED IT!
It is the Story of an out(cast) gay teen named Timothy (Tanner Cohen) at an all-boy prep school. His only allies are his gal pal Frankie (Zelda Williams), best friend Max (Ricky Goldman and drama teacher Ms. Tebbit (Wendy Robie – whom you may remember as Twin Peaks‘ one eyed strongwoman and silent drape inventor Nadine Hurley). That info plus the trailer – see below – was enough to get me in the theater seat and I’m glad I went.
Ms. T’s actions and words make hers a dual role, as (in my humble opinion) she is also Titania, queen of the fairies (its the only explanation of where the magic comes from). She involves Timothy in the Senior production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the role of Puck, and soon he’s not just acting. Timothy discovers the magic of Shakespere’s love potion pansy to turn much of the town gay.
The scenes are beautifully filmed and the actors voices are amazing (especially the leads – Tanner Cohen and Nathanial David Becker in his film debut as Jonathon – school rugby superstar and town royalty) Some of the choreography can get on the cheesy side at times, but I think its meant to be tongue in cheek (especially the rugby ballet – yes I said rugby ballet). I loved it… and if you are on the romantic side and might enjoy a good gay coming of age musical in the form of a Shakespeare parody – then race to the theater.
Above are a couple of videos of the boys of Were the World Mine. One of Director Tom Gustafson, and stars Tanner Cohen and Nathaniel David Becker and the other is an interesting Tanner Cohen (who apparently is 6 foot 4 – wow – he’s a big boy) interview.

Still not sure whether I like good Andrew better than sociopathic Andrew, but I AM glad he’s getting some storyline again. He’s really one of the main reason’s I still watch the show. Well him, his tightly wound mom, the new not quite jailbait (THEY ARE 20 SO DON”T GIVE ME SHIT) twins and the neighborhood psycho killer. Thus far, I like this season much better than last years.
Well at the end of Sunday’s episode, we saw that he is shacking up with his step dad’s nose doctore. And previews of the next episode show the gay neighbors revealing they saw Andrews new Dr. boyfriend in PORN! Who cares… he’s a Dr. now. Med school is EXPENSIVE – don’t judge.

I saw these beautifully designed Penguin book sets on the new blog There’s Homosexuality Afoot – (A charming (gay) idiot’s take on pop culture and porn), along with the blogger’s confession to being a “design geek.” Gay geeks of all types (comics, Sci-Fi, Toys, Nostalgia, Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Horror, Porn or whatever you’re unnaturally obsessed with) need to support one another. I’m not sure if you can have these shipped outside the UK, but either way they are still worth looking at.
Notice this isn’t their first stylish set of Ian Flemming’s James Bond books. In May they released gorgeous set of Centenary Edition Hardcovers with iconic artwork by Michael Gillette Unfortunately they appear to be long sold out now, as are a number of the other sets. So act quickly if interested – they’d make great gifts.

If you are a Magik fan like me, then you’ve been waiting with bells on for the next chapter in her return. Well wait no longer… She’s back in this week’s X-Infernus. CBR had a special treat with a double sized preview.
The X-Men promise to make this one of the hottest winters ever! When last we saw Darkchylde, she had claimed the throne of Limbo as her own. And now she’s determined to get her soul back, even if she has to conquer Earth in the process. Can the combined forces of the X-Men stop her rampage? They’ll have to fight through every demon in Limbo to try.
To catch up anyone who missed her reappearance in the pages of the now defunct (sniff sniff sob) New X-Men… During the reality altering House of M crossover, Illyanna Rasputin reappeared in limbo as the Darkchylde – well part of her did. She’s there in body and mind, but her soul is missing.
She took part of Pixie’s soul (making her magic adept enough for novice spells). And after she and the kids of the “New X-Men” kicked Belasco’s demon ass, she tried to regain her soul through love by reaching out to brother Piotr and BFF Kitty Pryde, but found only rubble where the X-Mansion stood leaving her only the path of anger.
When saw her in Divided We Stand, Ilyanna swore vengeance on those who wronged her. She means to replace her soul with their own. Question is, who does she blame, and can she be stopped?
