I’ve been busy lately and have been meaning to get this you you earlier. A few weeks back at the Alternative Press Expo here in San Francisco I had the chance to say hello to a number of gay comics creators and organizations (more on that later so comment to light a fire under my ass if I said hi to you). I’d communicated with the guys from Gravity Faggot online before (myspace friends), but this was my first chance to meet the hot and sexy creative team: writer/colorist Johnny Nolan (Johnny Freedom), artist/designer Mark Padilla (WonderMark) and letterer Diego Gomez (Designnurd) in the flesh.
Planet Gay XXXPress is an balls out (literally) tongue in cheek (again literally) graphic gay sex fest with roots in comics and scifi. Silver Fox and the Ferret are a sexy send-up of the dynamic duo and the superhero sidekick phenomenon in general. Boaris the Sex Hog answers the loaded question “What If the Lobo of the Zoo Crew Universe were a aggressive sexually insatiable versatile porcine powertop? And the 3rd chapter of Planet Gay XXXPress is Love Machine, starring RoboDaddy (unit 31707) as a sexdroid who breaks his programming and falls in love with Gregory Tightbottom’s tight bottom (can’t say I blame him). I’m looking forward to a trade paperback (or even hardcover) collection of the first 6 issues or so… Keep ‘em cumming boys!

Below you can find preview images and the Gay Comic Geek’s video review… As usual he says pretty much what I wanted to – but has numerous insights even beyond my capabilities (I never would have pegged the TMNT reference) and does it while looking hot on video in a tight t-shirt. So watch the review and pick up the comic!
CBR’s feature, Comics Should Be Good has a detailed and informative (for much info for beginners and longtime fans alike) article that really does a reasonably good job of explaining the overly convoluted history of Marvel’s X-Men.
Not only is it heavily hyper-linked but it’s also quite comprehensive and includes lists of essential Trade paperbacks and even X-Men novels (I’d missed those) Check it out!

And whatever else you are comfortable with showing…
Class Comics is holding a contest specifically to find out just how crazy you are about their comics! You can enter the contest by submitting a "a digitally taken photograph". Maybe in costume as one of their characters, maybe buck naked or spaying a thick load while reading Class Comics… Or it might be simply of a tattoo you had done!
The only rule is that the photo has to have “I LOVE CLASS COMICS” physically present in the photo. You can’t photoshop it in after! Write it on paper, print it on cardstock, put it on a monitor behind you, hire a sky writing airplane to put it in the clouds!
Submissions will be posted on Class Comics. Of these, the top five will be chosen by Patrick Fillion and put to a public reader vote to chose First, Second and Third place in early 2009.
First Prize: A personalized convention sketch and the next 15 comics published by Class Comics sent automatically for free.
Second Prize: A personalized convention sketch the next 10 comics published by Class Comics sent automatically for free.
Third Prize: A personalized convention sketch and the next 5 comics published by Class Comics sent automatically for free.
