I said <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar" rel="nofollow">Northstar</a> "first appeared in the pages of the X-Men and EVENTUALLY found his way onto their roster" - (about 20 years later). He was an instructor and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar#X-Men" rel="nofollow">member of the X-Men</a> - he even "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar#Death" rel="nofollow">died</a>" defending the X-mansion and the students from a brainwashed Wolverine. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar" rel="nofollow">Northstar</a> has been seen fighting alongside the X-Men in San Francisco during Marvel's current "<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar#Secret_Invasion" rel="nofollow">Secret Invasion</a>". Its all covered in the wiki links I included in the post. Both <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northstar" rel="nofollow">Northstar</a> AND <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpha_Fligh" rel="nofollow">Alpha Flight</a> first appeared in <a href="http://www.marvel.com/digitalcomics/titles/UNCANNY_X-MEN.1963.120" rel="nofollow">Uncanny X-Men #120</a> (April 1979) and were created by the X-Men's artist at the time <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Byrne" rel="nofollow">John Byrne</a> - who went on to create the later Alpha Flight series. Not sure about his relations with the X Men. I think he worked briefly with Professor Xavier at the school for mutant kids.
