Mark Millar is at it again with YET ANOTHER comic book miniseries. With the success of the screen adaption of his birth of a villain epic – Wanted, and his Kick-Ass in active development, it’s amazing, but somehow he found the time to spin out another comic property for Hollywood to clamor over. War Heroes started last month and is a story about superheroes in a war setting (or is it soldiers in a superhero setting?) published by Images Comics. I didn’t notice this in the August books (shame on me) so here are previews of last month’s issue #1 and tomorrow’s issue #2.
#2 hits stands September 17th and your comic store may be able to order #1 if they don’t have it.
Saw this tonight in the gay rights section of a special on VH1 and loved it enough to dig it up online for you. Anita Bryant’s crusade to “do away with” the homosexuals was one of the first times I remember hearing about being “gay” (before i really knew what it meant) – that and seeing Superman kiss Michael Cain in Deathtrap. I primarily think of her as an outspoken zealot who took advantage of her podium and lost it. Lets hope Sarah Palin is remembered as fondly by history. They are/were both just glorified ex-beauty queens with an anti-gay axe to grind doing a song-and-dance to entertain the mindless masses.
Its too bad our dangerous world requires public figures to be so well guarded at all times that it makes the good-old-fashioned pie-in-the-face virtually impossible. I think Sarah Palin would look fabulous in Lemon Meringue.
I couldn’t find a DDay linked up with that identifier. Giving up…
NBC gave CBR these 6 clips from this season’s premiere episode of Heroes… and though I refuse to watch (so as not to spoil my experience on Monday September 22) I’m passing them on…
OK. I am now officially counting the days until I get watch three hours of Heroes on Monday, September 22. It’s been far too long. An hour-long compilation show airs (8-9 p.m. ET) followed by the spectacular all new, two-hour premiere of Heroes Volume Three: Villains (9-11 p.m. ET). The stars and creators are on the interview circuit.
here are 3 Going Postal webisodes that lead into Season 3… (I’d posted the first 1 before, but include it again for those who missed it.)
Watching these makes me wonder if this season’s “villains” were all that villainous BEFORE the company locked them up. Having the sonic scream guys first name be Echo is a bit on the nose don’t you think?
Comic Book Resources has an interesting article detailing the origin, criminal career and multiple deaths (his recent execution makes at least 3 dirt naps) of child-murdering, serial rapist Dr. Light.

If you love the classic What If? title way back when, then you are in for a treat this December. We get 5 new What If stories for the holidays… “What if Iron Man, Hulk, Spider-Man and Wolverine became Fantastic Four after the originals died?” “What if Iron Man died instead of Captain America?” “What If Mary Jane Had Been Shot Instead Of Aunt May?” “What if Dr. Doom won the Secret War?” “What if Scarlet Witch had ended the HOUSE OF M by saying “NO MORE POWERS!”
There are actually SIX stories if you count each issues chapter of the 5-part back-up story… a “What if the Runaways became the Young Avengers.”

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds attempts to defend the lies in his candidate’s latest attack ads. News anchors, Megyn Kelly at FOX news and Norah O’Donnell at MSNBC both embraced Amy Poehler’s heartfelt message as Hillary Clinton. I hope we see more people following suite, especially when it comes to the hyper-conservative Sarah Palin.

The long promised miniseries starring and explaining the all-new Terra is finally coming to a comic book store near you!
From the pages of TERROR TITANS and the minds of Justin Gray, Jimmy Palmiotti, and Amanda Connor comes a new rock-slinging heroine! As Terra’s earth-shaking stunts grab the attention of the world, a new threat rises from beneath the surface. Will Terra live to fight another day, as she takes on the blaze and fury of Pyrite and the Lavarians? And what is the secret behind this new mover and shaker’s powers? Guest-starring Power Girl and Doctor Mid-Nite!
Issue #1 on sale November 5, issue #2 on sale November 19
Most of what was previously released about the initial miniseries planned for 2006-2007 seems to be cannon for this story. It seems it was merely put on hold until a better time in DC continuity arose.
“She’s the new Terra. Nobody in the DCU seems to know much about her, but she keeps popping up and trying to save the day.” Connor also added “In the first two issues Power Girl shows up.”
Connor related a story about a scene in the beginning of the second issue of the mini-series. “Terra is running around ‘clothes-free’ and she’s in Doctor Midnite’s lab, not knowing how she got there. I had to be very ‘Austin Powers,’ trying to strategically hide things here and there.”
“Ours is a completely different character, yet in our series we explain where the other Terra’s came from,” Palmiotti said, also acknowledging Terra’s creator, fellow panelist Wolfman.
I was a big fan of the original Terra (psychopathic Lolita tendencies and all), so a new Terra is a hard sell for me. I’m still annoyed that they killed Tara off so casually in WW3 and NEED this new Terra to be tied to her in some way.
