Greatest Hits is a promising 6-issue Vertigo miniseries written by David Tischman (BITE CLUB) with art by Glenn Fabry whose work you may recognize from his many Vertigo Covers (Hellblazer, Preacher and Neverwhere).
GREATEST HITS looks at the greatest super team of all time – The Mates (Crusader, The Solicitor, Vizier and Zipper), from their humble 1960s beginnings, through the drug-fueled 1970s, and into the techno ’80s, the grungy ’90s, and to the present day. This is The Mates from the height of their glory to the depths of excess, as filmed by a struggling Hollywood director – one with his own dark ties to the team.
But who are the heroes behind the mania? How did they meet? And what’s next for The Mates?

Known political photographer and committed democrat Jill Greenberg was commissioned by The Atlantic to do a “heroic” cover shoot of Republican presidential nominee John McCain for its October 2008 issue. In addition to capturing the image the client asked for, Ms. Greenberg also took a few snaps of her own.
Greenberg gloated over how she tricked McCain… McCain was asked to “please come over here” for one more set-up before the 15-minute shoot was over. There, she had a beauty dish with a modeling light set up. “That’s what he thought he was being lit by,” Greenberg says. “But that wasn’t firing.”
What was firing was a strobe positioned below him, which cast the horror movie shadows across his face and on the wall right behind him. “He had no idea he was being lit from below,” Greenberg says.
I have to agree setting a trap for a candidate isn’t very professional, but it IS pretty damned funny. Atlantic Monthly was far from amused though. Editor James Bennet has gone on record as saying Greenberg has “disgraced herself” with her “Incredibly unprofessional” behavior. He also said she “has violated the terms of our agreement” and the magazine is considering a lawsuit.

Jett Blakk sort of addresses the rumors that genetically gifted supertop, Chad Hunt will finally be on the receiving end in the upcoming Dirty Bird release “Endgame.” Really its just more fuel on the fires of speculation. It may be both cynical and hopeful, but I think whenever I hear a porn star talking about something they’ll “never” do, it is just posturing in order to get the best offer and increase demand.
A P.A. on Jett Blakk’s latest “Endgame” snapped these candid shots of Chad Hunt in a unusual (for him at least) position, and now the rumors are flying about this famed pitcher… catching for a change.
One could easily mistake those blurry, ill-framed clandestine snaps of posturings and positionings of Chad Hunt to be interpreted any number of ways. Now, does it look like Mr. “King of the Tops”, Mr. “I’ll Never Bottom on Video” is about to be gang-banged?

This REALLY is one of the best new titles I’ve read. It manages to assemble an interesting team from a cast of unknowns (which isn’t common in the marvel U – writers almost ALWAYS add one familiar face.) And Payback’s work affiliation with S.H.I.E.L.D. provides all the connection with the Marvel U that this title should ever need.
As therapy sessions with Dr. Worth help Mavis Trent come to terms with the variant symbiote that dwells within her, we learn the secret behind her Payback identity and discover the role Luke Cage played in the formation of the True Believers. But past and present violently collide when efforts to solve the mystery of her father’s murder lead Mavis into a lethal death trap from which there is no escape!
