Magik is back with a vengeance! According to Marvel jack-of-all-trades C.B. Cebulski, X-Infernus actually started life as an Uncanny X-Men Annual that he and David Finch were planning, featuring the long-awaited return of beloved fan favorite Illyana “Magik” Rasputin. But David Finch was chosen as artist for Ultimatum with Jeph Loeb, he couldn’t say no, so the Magik Annual got put into Limbo so to speak. Given certain events that were happening in the current X-Universe, editor Nick Lowe resurrected the project. Lowe and Marvel Sales guru David Gabriel liked the overall concept so much they felt an Annual would be limiting, so they came up with the idea to turn it into a four issue mini-series with covers by David Finch.

An interesting tidbit I came across while wiki finding links…
It was stated by Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander during a December 2007 Word Balloon podcast that viewers have seen Angela Petrelli’s powers used on the show, though by Peter and not Angela herself.
So, what powers has Peter used that NO ONE else has????
Here is an extra treat that for some reason always comes to mind as I watch the DNC and RNC to witness the latest political sleight of hand from both sides (but the Republican attack on gay marriage as a distraction from failures overseas is the most scurrilous example of the political sidestep I’ve seen in recent years).

Can the divided teams reunite and conquer the Skrulls? Can Hulking fulfill the prophecy and become a Skrull messiah? What will become of Xavin after the dust settles in this concluding chapter?

I was talking to a friend who put it an interesting way. When you think of Republicans, an affluent white man comes to mind. He’s got money, he’s not oppressed, he goes with the flow. But when you add something like being gay, you have to make a choice – Is going along with these guys just to protect your financial interests worth sending the message that its OK to treat homosexuals like second class citizens in order to distract the nation from this administration’s ineptitude?
I don’t think it is. I think real gay Republicans should find a way to change the party from within. but the problem is, the gay Republicans who ACTUALLY have any power to do so are loathing themselves in the closet or busy in a bathroom stall clandestinely sucking off trade instead of standing up publicly for the rest of us in Washington. To me the Log Cabin Republicans generally come across as sycophantic yes men following their wallet instead of their soul, and I haven’t seen anything this election to change that opinion.
Senator Obama appeared opposite the always fair and balanced Bill O’Reilly on Thursday’s O’Reilly Factor.
In case you missed it while you were buying three cases of beer to prepare for your “How Many Times Can Republicans Say the Word ‘Maverick’?” drinking game last night, here is the clip
