Revovering from Crippling Sypware infestation
Be back soon, I promise. I hate spyware. Anyone have a suggestion on the best solution? Desktop warning says I need to get rid of the following, but my McAfee doesn’t see them during its scan.
Win32/Adware.Virtuamonde
and
Win32/PrivacyRemover.M64

Hey! I’m late (as is the norm) and I’m just here to say I love the site and will be sending in tons of content soon!

try AVG and/or Trendmicro Housecall to detect and remove (both free), then go for ccleaner to keep your computer running smoothly. The only way I got rid of my problem was a system restore after clearing all cookies etc etc, so that’s another possibility for you.
Hope all goes well!!

Unfortunately my system restore isn’t showing ANY restore points. I’ve just about got the problem handled. I should be back with posts tonight… About 1/2 way done with reading my weekly stack. Some GOOD stuff this week!!!
GO BUY X-FACTOR LAYLA MILLER #1 RIGHT NOW!!! I MEAN IT!
My PC is usually very well protected. Something snuck past a firewall while I was testing a new wireless router.
I used be a Mac person. Used nothing but Macs for almost 10 years – first computer was a MacPlus. Stopped using Macs in mid 90s because I got so damned sick of wanting to play games that would never be released on Mac. Also I hated system 10. Haven’t adopted Windows Vista yet because its too much like the overkill of the mac system. I’d rather have a faster system than all the widget bells and whistles.
Whenever I try a friends Mac (popapathy has one), I find it IMPOSSIBLY slow.
Its all about what you are used to.
