Dr. Horrible launches his Sing-Along-Blog!

What do you get when you cross America’s favorite gay television doctor and the mind of Joss Whedon, creator of the Buffyverse? A musical blog by an earnest albeit inept singing supervillain wanna be who goes by Dr. Horrible.

And it is far from horrible. In fact I think its pretty damned great. But then, I’m a bit warped. “Once More With Feeling” was one of my all time favorite episodes of Buffy TVS and I even have a few select songs in a few playlists. You can purchase the episodes on iTunes if that is your thing, or just watch them below - enlargeable to fullscreen. Visit the Official Site.

ACT I

ACT II

Act III

I see a cult classic in the making. I hope they do more than these 3 episodes. Or even add a few more songs and make it a real stage show. I’d go see it. I want to see a Joss Whedon musical on Broadway.

and of course here is a link to the inevitable Dr. Horrible fansite

Didn’t that take a dark turn? Not unexpected in the twisted world of Whedon. I hope they keep this going and I’m glad to see you are sharing it here (I dread filling the pockets of Apple’s itunes department).

Fantastic! It is commonly echoed in film school that laundromats have the best lighting for guerilla filmmaking. I see a possible nod to that here. This shows that good writing doesn’t need a big budget or egos - just talented people that want to be there.

It certainly DID take a dark turn. I wasn’t expecting that. For a second I was hoping it was akin to the great Cordy fakeout, but alas it wasn’t to be. I loved actually seeing The Evil League of Evil, and Bad Horse, the Thoroughbred of Sin.

Thank whoever is behind Whedontube. I’m not sure if it is a fansite or run by Whedon himself. Hulu.com told me to stay tuned, so they might host it soon as well (which is better - fullscreen options).
