Young Avengers presents 5 of 6: Hawkeye – Great bonding moments between Kate and Clint. And Alan Davis can do very little wrong (wasn’t THAT into Killraven but it was pretty).
Madame Xanadu #1: The art is beautiful, and the story is a new, yet oddly familiar (Merlin, Morgan Le fey, Nimue and a setting right out of Arthurian legend.) look into the mythic origins of one of the most mysterious characters in the DCU.
Thunderbolts #121: The chaos that ran rampant for the last few issues is reigned in and Songbird faces down Green Goblin and garners herself a bigger power base in Thunderbolts mountain. Great issue but not quite as phenomenal as #120 was. Its hard to follow something that perfect.
Green Lantern #32: Geoff Johns continues to amaze with his surprisingly original retelling of Hal Jordan’s secret origin. He’s still dropping hints of what’s co come… I wonder what’s next? Hmmm I have no idea. Who will Birth the BLACK? William HAND. OK that IS a bit obvious.
Runaways 30: Its about time. I love Joss Whedon and really liked Michael Ryan’s art, but there was just tooo long between issues. I wish they’d brought the redhead back with them too, but I’m glad plant-girl cam along. I wonder if this was delayed so it would finish this week to coincide with their arrival in Secret Invasion Runaways / young Avengers #1 of 3.

Check out this Newsarama interview with Guardians of the Galaxy writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning. They go into detail on issue #2 and discuss some upcoming surprises in #3. All this PLUS… Starhawk!
I’d never heard of “internet celebrity” Matthew Harding a.k.a. Dancing Matt – but this is awesome. 14 months in the making, 42 countries, and a cast of thousands.

We’ll have plenty of hype and hoopla for the historic Uncanny X-Men #500 (6 variant covers, 2 one-shot collectors item specials and 2 large posters of the Greg Land and Alex Ross wraparound covers). Not only does it kick off the latest X-Epic – Manifest Destiny – The X-men’s exodus to their new home in San Francisco, but from the looks of the 4 preview pages and solicit released today on Newsarama Magneto is back too, along with the Master Mold and Sentinels! Lets hope this is the real Mags. I don’t want another MGH huffing cheap copy.
I like much of what Barack Obama has to say to the LGBT community.
John McCain, not so much.
Here is Barack Obama’s 2008 Gay Pride message…
I am proud to join with our lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered brothers and sisters in celebrating the accomplishments, the lives, and the families of all LGBT people during this Pride season. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans.
It’s time to live up to our founding promise of equality by treating all our citizens with dignity and respect. Let’s enact federal civil rights legislation to outlaw hate crimes and protect workers against discrimination based upon sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. Let’s repeal Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell and demonstrate that the most effective and professional military in the world is open to all Americans who are ready and willing to serve our country. Let’s treat the relationships and the families of LGBT Americans with full equality under the law.
We are ready to accomplish these goals because of the courage and persistence of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people who have are working every day to achieve equal rights. The gay couple who demand equal treatment in our family laws as they raise their children; the lesbian soldier who wants nothing more than to serve her country openly and honestly; the transgendered workers who asks for the simple dignity of being judged by the quality of their work. Generations of LGBT Americans, at once ordinary and extraordinary, have made possible this moment in our history. With leadership and hard work, we can fulfill the promise of equality for all.
The ever colorful Project Runway 2008 winner Christian Siriano celebrates gay pride traditionally this year… by being introduced by a hot tranny mess and judging pornstars in a swimsuit competition. He banters playfully with Randy Blue boys Chris Rockway and Jeremy Walker (who gives him a good ride).
Here is Christian’s intro and monologue preceding the boys.
