As a longtime Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan (started with season 1 as they aired), I was overjoyed to hear that Joss would be continuing with Season 8 in comic form.
This series really feels like the show to me (more than the few random issues of other Buffy titles picked up over the years) and last issue was no slouch in that department. With Dracula jokes, Willow in the field, an army of Slayers against an unknown force, Renee in bleeding out in mortal peril and Dawn going Godzilla on Tokyo, it seems like old times with a bigger FX budget and a cast of thousands. From the preview images below, it should be quite a show. Can’t wait until next week!

Since HeroesNHunks has been viewed in over 70 countries, I decided to look into translation widgets. To the right you’ll now notice a number of itty bitty flags. Just click a flag to translate!
The rating system (blue stars) are fairly new as well. Please rate posts from 1 to 5 stars so I know what you like.
I’ve decided since my ever expanding blogroll is now COMPLETELY out of control that I should do a semiregular bit spotlighting 1 blog from each blog category…
The always sexy, ever present Steve Cruz has a bunch of great pics from the 2008 Grabby awards. Here he is with Diesel Washington’s Marvel-clad torso. Who else thinks Steve would make a great super sidekick to Jake Deckard at ACTIVATE!?
Steve won Best Newcomer and was also awarded for his group scene in Link: Evolution.
his surprisingly sexy Rusty Collins (a.k.a. Firefist). Rusty has never really had a hot look. He ACTUALLY combined baggy jodhpurs, a spandex top and a 1/2 cowl in his X-Factor days. Frightening.
If you are a gay guy who likes comics, come at chat at the Castro Comic Book Club. Its a place for gay geeks who like comics toys and pop culture in general.
Live from Chicago, Roma interviews mohawked Jesse Santanna during 2008 Grabby Awards weekend.
Dewayne wants to know who these hunks above are… I recognize Johnny Castle (center, right photo), but not the rest, so speak up if you do. I would LOVE to see more of the hardbody on the left.
Check out BlueGrey Illustrations interactive xBoys. He only has a few done so far but they are fun semi-interactive gay beefcake virtual paper dolls of Marvel’s mutants. And if you favorite is a girl, no matter, in his gallery, she’s a boy!

We’ve always known Cassie Lang was the product of a broken home. She’s was introduced as the preteen daughter of a dead ex-con turned costumed adventurer father and a bitch of a Mom who divorced him and married a cop who didn’t like superheroes either. Not exactly a Norman Rockwell painting. Hell, its not even an Alex Ross commemorative plate.
In this tale we get a peak into this not so pretty picture as Cassie attempts to recover from a traumatizing failure as a hero. Doesn’t the Initiative have shrinks on the payroll for this? Well if it gets her back with the Young Avengers and away from Skrully Hank Pym and that creepy Initiative base, all the better. Too bad someone innocent may have been hurt in the bargain though… head to the comic shops Thursday (HOLIDAY DELAYS COMIC BOOK SHIPPING) to see what happens after these pages…
