Thunderbolts 120: BEST ISSUE EVER! Starts with a brilliant rant by a batshit Norman Osborne as he retrieves his old fighting togs.

The Green Goblin messes with some guards heads a moment and then proceeds to hunt down Swordsman. The ensuing beatdown proves to us Andrea Strucker was the twin with balls as Norman relentlessly barrages a pathetic whimpering Andreas with pumkin bombs and then crucifies him.

The rogue telepaths are still up to no good and I have a feeling Songbird is going to come out of this as the big hero because she seems like the Tbolts only hope to save their ass at this point. Oh yeah AND Moonstone has “decided” it wouuld be a great time to kill Doc Sampson. Also a great bit with Radioactive Man, Songbird and a guard. I laughed out loud a number of times. Pretty amazing for a book this dark. LOVED IT!

Guardians of the Galaxy 1: I was looking forward to this, but it was even better than I expected. With Quasar (Phyla-Vell), Star-Lord, Adam Warlock, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora and Rocket Raccoon they have a cool and very powerful line-up. I thinkforming a peacekeeping force in response to the last 2 galactic wars is a great concept. The issue moves back and forth between the first mission, the conversations behind the formation of the group, and a debriefing after the first mission. But strangely enough i wasn’t confused as to what was happening when.

Maybe I’ve developed abilities similar to the teams “counselor” MANTIS!!!!!! The freaking Celestial Madonna is playing Deanna Troi! I love it.

Her unusual perspective is always fun in the hands of a good writer and from the above monologue, I think they have her covered.

I was completely surprised and blown away to see her. Aside from Nova, I haven’t been reading the recent happenings out there on the edge of the galaxy (Ultron and the Phalanx and all that), so I don’t really know who’s out there these days. Looking forward to some more old favorites.
