Kids in the Hall - STILL the funniest men in dresses since Monty Python

Though they may be more self conscious about their legs than they used to be (all but Bruce McCollough who was a hot comedic tranny sans mess in the shortest skirt I’ve seen on a man) Last night, I went with popapathy and his “Grace” to see the Kids in the Hall 2008 tour performance at the War memorial, here in San Francisco.
A personal favorite was “Buddy Cole’s” hysterical monologue on why the Messiah was gay. That was far from the only potshot taken at religion, but as a happily lapsed Catholic, I sure didn’t mind. They had lots of new material last night, including sketches about hateful babies, time machines as a solution to last call, Jehova’s Witnesses, inebriated superheroes, and Adolf Hitler. They definitely aren’t “kids” anymore, but their performances were as sharp and edgy as ever. Hopefully this will lead to some new movies, tv shows, cable specials etc from my favorite Canadian comics.

I saved my ticket. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get any of the souvenirs that were tossed into the audience as crew cleared the stage and pit (ping pong ball “eggs” from the Chicken Lady phone sex sketch).
Also check out this April article at The A.V. Club Scott Thompson mentions an “injury fetish”…. hmmm maybe that was why he fell off the stage during the final sketch last night? It sure didn’t look intentional, but then he may have just underestimated the drop into the War Memorial’s orchestra pit.
here’s a few random sketches…
a bunch more sketches are after the jump…
In case you couldn’t tell, I’m amused by Buddy Cole. Not the last you’ll see of him around these parts.
