Secret Invasion 2: LOVING what is going on with this. I don’t know who to trust and neither do they. The face off was great (awesome SPOILER PICS after the jump). Really psyched that the Young Avengers are on the scene in New York and ready for action, I’m looking forward to the YA/Runaways SI crossover. (Look after the jump to see what they are up against…) Mockingbird almost has me believing she’s the real deal - if only I hadn’t read the story where we saw her ghost helping out her old teammates.

Mighty Avengers 13 I’m liking Nick Fury’s recruits. I knew the kid was Ares’ and I know my mythology, but it never occurred to me that the kid was one of his mythological sons. Very cool. I loved the sequence with Layla Miller and Daisy Johnson. I can’t wait to see what happend next and for me it doesn’t get better than that.
X-Factor The Quick and the Dead 1 The good news is Quicksilver has his speed powers back. The bad news is he is hallucinating and talking to himself. Pietro should enjoy his luxury cruise. Now that he’s allegedly hit bottom, maybe he can start his way back to the top and find his sister and nephews.
Avengers Invaders 1 I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to. Maybe it is just because the Invaders trash the Thunderbolts and they do it oldstyle. This could get epic once the Avengers get involved, especially if Secret Invasion will have anything to do with it (is this simultaneous with the Skrull events)?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer 14 I should hav eseen the giant Dawn runs amuk in Tokyo coming a mile away. In fact I bet it is the sole reason that Joss had Dawnie get a magical enlarging social disease and come home before issue 1. Really liked the cute banter bewteen Xander and his new squeeze. What a nice couple I hope they work out and live happil… oh never mind. Someone up there has in it for Harris’ girlfriends, they keep getting impaled… think about it Cordelia - pipe, Anya - sword, Renee - sword (well she’s not quite dead yet - but that looked like a nasty wound)
The Boys 18 I don’t know what it says about me that I keep consistently enjoying this twisted tale. Entertaining, compelling and often a wee bit disturbing, it sill manages to throw in some laughs. For the Boys this was kind of a quiet issue, but a good read nontheless. Hopefully it gave Hughie and his Herbie the gerbil some closure.
NOVA 13 Interesting, I’ve read a number of stories about Galactus and trying to stave him off. But I don’t remember such an interesting tale about evacuation. Richard Ryders reaction when he realized only sentients with monetary means were going to escape and his attempt to save the impoverished and stop a murderer were admirable. But I’m guessing the people with means aren’t going to far well with a psionic psycho body hopper running amok. By the time Nove finishes with the Surfer, the richies should be meat.
Iron Man Viva Las Vegas 1 Art is breathtaking., but I don’t buy the passenger reaction on the plane - some of them would have cheered Iron Man for saving them and told the others to shut it. That bomber had clicked the button, and would have killed em all. A Golden Dragon… maybe Fing Fang Foom went to Maaco?
Cable 3 Still on the fence on this title… Intrigued about this new future that Cable and Bishop are in. What does it mean for mutants. Guys said there hadn’t been a mutie sighting since he was a kid, but in walks Cannonball, all grown up with Fabio hair. Also since when does Bishop convery “kinetic” energy? I thought he could only convert energy beams etc. I don’t remember him charging up from a beatdown.
Thunderbolts Reason in Madness 1 Great artwork by Ben Oliver. I’m abivilent about this current team of Thunderbolts. I liked villains pretedning the be heroes actuallly becoming heroic better than villains getting to beat on unregistered heroes. I hope civil war goes away and Songbird gets a spot on the Avengers and brings Genis back for their future romance. Would have liked it better if Mac ate Norman.
Action Comics Annual 1 OK I didn’t read Last Son, I’ve seen Christopher Kent in other issues over time. Does this take place after those? Before them? I thought Chris was living with Lois and Clark? Did Zod and gang break out after Chris had ben with the Kents awhile? I thought that story ended with Christ coming to live with the Kents. Someone fill me in please?
Young X-Men 2 I had it pegged, a training session - only reason for young Rhane and the TV room scene (I didn’t see the Young X-Men getting into time trave this soon, so it had to be a simulation), So we know one of them is not a mutant. Since Ink is new, my money on him. Plus he wacked a blind girl with a rifle butt, guessing he’s not what he seems. None of this makes sense. If the original new mutants went bad, Scott WOULD NOT send in an untrained team of kids who don’t know how to work together. He has X-force for that. Makes no sense at all.
Angel After the Fall 7 I REALLY want to love this, but half the time I’m not sure what is going on. It was nice to see cop Kate. Sticking around for a few more issues to see if I can figure out what the devil is going on in hell.
Supergirl 29 People have been asking me why I’m still buying it and as of this issue, I don’t know. Probably dropping it. I love the character and get so annoyed that noone knows what to do with her. She should have stayed in the Titans. Clark had the Kents, he was a child and they rasied him to a man, Kara arrived as a teen, she’to old for the Kents lessons, she need to learn from her peers and the Titans was the best place for her. Cancel this crapfest and put her back in Teen Titans.
